Chad has been on the American Waterworks team since February of 2012. As a homeowner, husband, and father, Chad has a great understanding of the importance of a dry basement and a sound foundation. He's a former small business owner and has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, including over eight years with us as a System Design Specialist. He enjoys his role because he spends each day consulting and problem solving with homeowners by designing systems that solve their unique problems. He feels fulfilled being able to provide solutions that protect customers' homes while also giving them a peace of mind and improving their quality of life. In his spare time, Chad enjoys playing sports with his sons, golfing, grilling, and spending time outdoors with his wife.

Ken H. in Osseo, WI had two walls in his basement that were cracked and bowing inward. Our production team installed 9 walls anchors along the two bowing walls. The anchors provide stability to the wall because they are drilled deep into the soil surrounding the home. The anchors also start to straighten the wall and the anchors can continue to be tightened over time, if need be. Our Foreman, Kiko, and his production team installed 640 feet of our CleanSpace Encapsulation Vapor Barrier, 400 feet of our Foamax Wall Panels, and our SmartDrain to fully waterproof the crawl space. Our vapor barrier is made to prevent mold, mildew, and rot while saving money on energy costs, and it provides more storage space. Our Foamax Wall Panels is a special foam insulation that brightens the crawl space and prevents water moisture from seeping through. Jim Grinder in Eau Claire, WI had a bowing foundation wall that was concerning him. One of our Design Specialists, Chad Johnson, went to Jim’s home to provide him with a free onsite estimate. Chad recommended that we install wall anchors to permanently stabilize his wall. Our production team started the installation process by drilling holes into the brick wall and inserting long metal rods that go into the soil outside of the home. Then, the rod is secured with anchors on each end. Once they tightened the anchors, the wall started to straighten. The anchors can continue to be tightened over time, to continue straightening the wall. Jim’s wall in now secure because of the wall anchor installation, and he has confidence that he chose the right company because our foundation repair products are backed by a lifetime warranty.

Steve O., a resident in Eau Claire, WI, had cracked foundation walls, causing him to worry about the stability of his home and the cost of replacement. From the inside of the foundation, our team inserted a long, metal rod to each hole outside of the home. At the ends of each rod in the soil, our team installed an anchor plate, which holes the rod in place underground. From inside the foundation, our team installed a GeoLock Wall Anchor to the ends of each rod to stabilize the foundation wall. This combination allows the wall to straighten itself out over time and because of the way our anchor system is designed, it can be tightened by the homeowner to ensure it is still doing its job. To complete the work, our team backfilled each hole beyond the foundation and compacted the soil. Steve was happy with the work that was done and had a good experience!

In each hole, they installed a long, metal rod from the soil through the bowing wall. On each end of the rod, they mounted and twisted on our GeoLock Wall Anchors, which is a unique wall anchor system that indestructibly evens out your foundation wall. After installation and over time, the anchors can be tightened to further strengthen the walls and pull them back to a regular position. To complete the installation, our crew replaced the soil and made sure the yard was neat and clean.
