Bob M. of Fergus Falls, MN had a cracked foundation wall in his basement, making him worry about the structural build of his home. He did some research on our website and came across around foundation repair products. He called our office line to set up a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson. Chad went to Bob's home, examined his foundation wall, and came up with the solution of our GeoLock Wall Anchor System. Bob was confident in Chad's proposal and got all of his questions answered, so he went ahead with an installation date.

Our Foreman, Brian Colliton, and his production team began the process by digging five holes outside of the home and inserting a long, metal rod from the inside foundation to each hole outside. At the ends of each rod, our team tightened and screwed on a GeoLock Wall Anchor. The wall anchor system permanently stabilizes the foundation wall by anchoring the wall to the hard-packed, compact soil beyond the foundation. To complete the installation, Brian and his team backfilled each hole, replaced the soil, and made sure the yard looked neater than when they found it. Bob was very satisfied with the project and no longer has to worry about the support of his home.

Keynote for homeowners: After installation, wall anchors can be tightened over time to further straighten your foundation walls and pull them back to their normal positions.

Job Stories From Fergus Falls, MN
Damp Basement Waterproofing in Fergus Falls, MN

In Fergus Falls, MN, a homeowner noticed water leaks along their basement floor, causing a musty smell. Knowing the issue would worsen and lead to mold growth, the homeowner quickly took action and began searching for basement water repair and found us. After browsing our website and becoming highly impressed by our 5-star reviews and basement waterproofing before and after photos, the homeowner knew we would be the right company for their home improvement project. Determined to find a long-lasting solution to their basement issues, the homeowner contacted our Appointment Center to schedule their FREE no-obligation estimate with one of our trained experts.

In about a week, one of our Design Specialists arrived at the home for the inspection. During the inspection, they took a close look in the basement, testing the humidity levels and noting the areas where water leaks could be seen. They also explained how hydrostatic pressure is one of the most common causes of a damp basement. Hydrostatic pressure is pressure exerted by a liquid due to the force of gravity. When it rains or floods, water has nowhere to go but soak and move through the soil. As it moves around the home, it finds weak points in the foundation and enters the basement. After explaining this and reporting their findings, our Design Specialist worked closely with the homeowner on creating a tailored solution to waterproof their basement. They recommended installing WaterGuard, our interior drainage system installed along the perimeter of the floor to direct water leaks to the sump pump, SuperSump+, our reliable sump system capable of removing 2,200 gallons of water, and IceGuard, our anti-freeze discharge system that allows water to escape the sump pump in freezing temperatures. Happy to have products that are backed by a strong warranty, the homeowner decided to move forward with the project.

In about a month, our Foreman, Kevin M., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began by drilling a sump pit and the edges of the floor. Then, the components of the sump pump are installed and WaterGuard is placed along the edges of the floor, where the trenches were created. Then, the crew installs IceGuard at the exterior of the home, connecting it to the sump pump. Once everything is properly secured, the areas are backfilled with rocks, and the flooring is restored.

Uneven Driveway Repair in Fergus Falls, MN

In Fergus Falls, MN, a homeowner noticed sunken concrete slabs along their driveway and walkway and was concerned about the safety risks they posed. Knowing the issue would continue without a long-term solution, the homeowner began searching for "concrete driveway repair" in the area and found us. After browsing our website and becoming highly impressed by our concrete repair before and after photos, the homeowner knew we would be the right company for their home improvement project and contacted us to schedule their FREE estimate.

In about a week, our Design Specialist, Jackson P., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection. During the inspection, he took a close look at the driveway and walk, taking precise measurements to see how much the slabs had sunken, and determined which slabs needed lifting and leveling. He also noticed signs of soil washout, a process where water moves through the ground and washes the soil keeping slabs upright. Over time, this leads to gaps and voids and the slabs would begin to sink and form cracks. After reporting and explaining his findings, Jackson worked closely with the homeowner on creating a custom solution that targeting the issues they wanted to address. He proposed lifting the sunken slabs with PolyLevel, our poly foam expanding solution installed beneath the slabs to effectively and quickly lift them, and NexusPro, our silicone-based sealant that is UV resistant meaning it will never crack, bubble or dry out, to seal the joints and repair the cracks. Happy to have a lasting solution, the homeowner decided to move forward with the project.

In about a month, our Foreman, Charlie C., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. The crew began drilling precise holes along the bottom of the driveway and along the walkway. Then, PolyLevel was injected, filling in the gaps and voids in the soil. Once the slabs have been raised to the desired height, the crew ensures it is level before sealing the holes. Lastly, the cracks and joints were sealed providing a seamless look.

Now, our customer can have a smooth and level walkway and driveway! Looking for concrete repair services? Click HERE to schedule your FREE no obligation estimate with one of our trained experts!

Weak Foundation Gets Support in Fergus Falls, MN

When your home begins to show symptoms of foundation issues, it's critical that you have them properly addressed before the issue has a chance to worsen. Even if you do not plan on scheduling a repair, it's vital to know the diagnosis and stage of failure the wall is currently at. That's how a homeowner from Fergus Falls, MN, came to enlist the help of American Waterworks. The homeowner had noticed his basement walls were showing signs of bowing. Not fully understanding the extent of the issue, he began to look into how to fix bowing walls. When all of the online articles began raising alarm bells, the homeowner was quick to search for a contractor specializing in stabilizing weak foundations. He quickly found American Waterworks and was impressed with our previous work in his area, so he decided to book his FREE estimate with one of our Design Specialists.

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ian S, was headed out to the home to evaluate the wall. When he arrived, he wasted no time jumping into the inspection, consulting the homeowner periodically to make sure all of his areas of concerns were properly assessed. After concluding his walkthrough, Ian sat down with the homeowner to go over his findings. He began by informing the homeowner that his basement was indeed failing, but it had not progressed to complete wall failure yet. Ian stated that the homeowner was experiencing a bowing wall because the pressure on the side of the wall was becoming too much for it to witshtand. Ian went on to say that, while the foundation could stand to be left alone, he strongly urged the homeowner to consider repairing now, when the problem was smaller and more manageable. Ian explained that as a foundation continues to fail, the repairs become more extensive and the price tag skyrockets. Ian recommended our GeoLock wall anchors to address the problem. These award-winning anchors counteract pressure on the wall by anchoring it to the undisturbed soil beyond the foundation. Threaded rods connect the anchors, permanently stabilizing your wall as they are tightened. The homeowner was thankful for Ian's evaluation and recommendations, but wasn't in a financial situation to address the problem at the moment. Over the following weeks, the homeowner was deep in thought about when the right time to repair the wall was. After much though and consideration, and a conversation with our financing team, GreenSky, the homeowner contacted Ian to schedule the project, stating that he wanted to get ahead of the repairs before it had the chance to worsen and become more expensive.

A month or so later, our Foreman, RJ L, and his crew were out at the home to install the geo-lock wall anchors. When the project concluded, the homeowners basement adorned 6 new anchors and wall that showed minimal signs of bowing. Now our customer can move forward knowing he invested in his home's safety!

Fergus Falls, MN, Leaky Basement Repaired

A homeowner in Fergus Falls, MN, noticed their basement was suffering from water damage. To prevent this issue from worsening, the homeowner knew they needed to find a permanent solution. The homeowner looked into "wet basement contractor near me," and one of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. Impressed with our before-and-afters, the homeowner knew that we were the ideal company for their project. Since they were already on our website, the homeowenr decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Derek. A few days later, Derek traveled to the home to begin the detailed estimate. During his inspection, Derek confirmed that several areas were suffering from water intrusion. To prevent this issue from worsening, Derek recommended installing several waterproofing products throughout the basement. Knowing this was their best plan of action, the homeowner agreed and sent the proposal to our Logisitics team to give the final stamp of approval. Once the plans were approved, it was assigned to our Foreman, Emmanuel, and his crew. When the project date arrived, Emmanuel and his crew traveled to the home to begin the project. First, Emmanuel and his crew started by securing the WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew can shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the SuperSump+. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the SuperSump+ to the new WaterGuard. Finally, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching it to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Once all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew, so they left a stellar review. Crawl Space Gets a Sump Pump in Fergus Falls, MN

A Fergus Falls, MN, homeowner had noticed that his crawl space was emitting a foul odor. The homeowner suspected that the smell was originating from the crawl space. Admittedly, he didn't spend much time down in the space as it was dark and musty. Not wanting the odor to persist, he decided to find a MN crawl space repair company. When he found our website, he decided to sign up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ian S, made a stop at the home.

Once Ian arrived, he wasted no time shimmying down into the crawl space. Once he got a good look around, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. Ian informed the homeowner that the odor was mold and mildew that was forming in the crawl space because of some standing water that had gone unnoticed by the homeowner. Ian informed him that we could help by installing our SuperSump sump pump in the crawl space. Ian explained that the SuperSump is an effective and more economical solution. It's engineered to help keep a basement or crawl space dry and healthy for extended periods, even in times of heavy rain. It boasts a powerful Zoeller® 1/3 horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour. The homeowner liked the sound of the plan and decided to schedule the sump pump installation for several weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Franklin, and his team placed the sump without any issues. Now, our homeowner can stop worrying about his damp crawl space and can get back to worrying about more important things!
