Job Stories From Howard County, IA
WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation in Chester, IA

Joe M. in Chester, IA had water leaking through the walls in his basement. The water was causing damage to his property and had created a musty and unhealthy environment. He decided it was time to find a professional waterproofing contractor to permanently waterproof his basement.

He saw a commercial for American Waterworks and was pleased to see that we are experts in waterproofing. He gave us a call for a FREE estimate, and shortly after we had a Design Specialist out to his home to develop a solution for him. Joe was pleased with the personalized waterproofing plan, so he set a date for the installation.

Our crew removed the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and installed our WaterGuard drainage system. Next, we installed a SuperSump sump pump which is where the WaterGuard drains to. We also installed our CleanSpace barrier along the basement walls to guide water into the drainage system. Lastly, they replaced the concrete. Joe's basement is now a dry, clean and livable space. He can rest easy knowing his basement will always be protected since our waterproofing system is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Bowing Walls Stabilized with Wall Anchors in Lime Springs, IA

Joe from Lime Springs, IA contacted American Waterworks when he discovered that his foundation walls in his basement had cracked and started bowing inward. One of our Design Specialists went onsite to inspect his foundation and provide him with a free estimate. Our Specialist recommended that we install wall anchors in Joe’s basement to provide permanently stability to his foundation. Joe was pleased with this solution, so he chose to move forward with the installation.

Our production crew started installing the wall anchors by drilling small holes through the block foundation. Then, they inserted long, metal rods through the foundation and into the soil surrounding the home. Next, they secured both ends of the rods by screwing on anchor plates and tightening them as far as they would go. Not only did this process help to straighten Joe’s walls but it provides permanent stability for the foundation. Joe is glad he chose to invest in the long-term protection of his home!

Waterproofing Products Sustain Basement in Elma, IA

LuRae M. of Elma, IA had water leaking in corner of their basement and needed help as soon as possible. They called American Waterworks to set up a Free Estimate. We sent out one of our Design Specialists, Matt Ryan, to go to their home to diagnose the issue and come up with a solution. After a clear and detailed inspection, LuRae was comfortable with the proposal so they scheduled the installation date.

Our foreman, Austin Lucas, and his production team began the installation by cutting out the concrete perimeter of the basement to form a trench. Next, they installed our CleanSpace Wall System around the wall perimeter to prevent further leaks, mold, or humidity from invading the room. Furthermore, in the corner of the basement, our crew installed our SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, which is designed to keep basements dry and clean for extended periods of time, with the discharge line ending outside of their home.

Next, our production team installed our WaterGuard System in the formed trench, which serves as an underground drain, prevents any further water clogs, and catches water waste from below the CleanSpace. From the WaterGuard, contaminated water flows to the sump pump, and gets pumped out of the home. To complete the project, Austin and his crew filled the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. LuRae was very satisfied with the outcome, the American Waterworks team, and our waterproofing products!

Waterproofed Basement in Protivin, IA

Adolph and Miriam H. of Protivin, IA had water leaking in their basement so they got in contact with American Waterworks to inspect their problem and come up with a solution for them. After an in-depth inspection with our Design Specialist, Brandon Merrill, Adolph and Miriam were confident with the proposal so they set up a date for installation.

Our Foreman, Hugo Sanchez, and his production team began the installation by breaking out the concrete perimeter to form a trench. In the trench, our crew installed 103 feet of our WaterGuard System, designed to prevent water clogs and serve as an underground drain. Next, Hugo and his team installed our SuperSump Sump Pump System to the discharge line, which is made to keep basements dry for long periods of time. To complete the project, our team covered the leftover open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Adolph and Miriam were thankful we were able to help them in their time of need and no longer have to experience water problems!
