Martin D. in Lansing, IA has a two-story home with a walk-in basement built into a steep hillside. His home was built right next to the Mississippi River. They have had problems with their basement flooding for several years, especially during heavy rains. They were tired of dealing with a wet basement, so they contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Mike Radosevich, went to the home to inspect the basement and provide them with the right solution. After meeting with Mike, Martin felt confident in our company and our products, so he chose to have our waterproofing system installed.

Our Foreman, Hugo Sanchez, and his crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of the basement floor, a TripleSafe sump pump in the corner, and a SaniDry dehumidifier, which keeps the humidity in the basement under control. The drainage system guides water to the sump pump, and from there the water is expelled from the home through the discharge line. Martin is happy with the outcome and has been able to enjoy a dry, healthier basement since the installation!

A customer from Lansing, IA got in contact with us when they began to fear that their home may be inhibited by Radon, a colorless, odorless, naturally occurring gas that comes from the breakdown and decay of the soil that surrounds the foundation of the home. When our customer called in, we set them up with a FREE no-obligation estimate. Our Design Specialist, Jarrett, headed out to the property to see what could be done. He began by performing a 48-hour charcoal test, which he left behind to monitor the levels of Radon in the home. Once completed, the home was found to have unsafe levels of Radon. Jarrett recommended the installation of a Radon mitigation system and the couple agreed.

Our Production crew, led by Dakota, installed the system in no time. Now, our customers don't need to worry about breathing hazardous gas in their home!

Job Stories From Lansing, IA
Sunken Concrete Patio Causing Uneven Steps in Lansing, IA

Matt T. in Lansing, IA noticed that the concrete on his front porch had started to sink, which was causing the stairs to slope and be uneven. He wanted to raise his concrete back to original position but didn't want to have to replace it to do so. While researching concrete repair contractors, he discovered American Waterworks and was interested to learn more about our PolyLevel solution, so he contacted us to receive a free estimate. After meeting with our Design Specialist, he was confident in our company and our solution.

One of our concrete repair experts started the installation by drilling multiple small holes in the concrete of the front porch. He injected the polymer foam into the holes. The foam gradually expanded and started to raise the concrete. They continued this process a few times until the concrete was raised back to its original position. Lastly, they filled back the holes with concrete. Matt was thrilled to have raised steps and is glad he won't have to be concerned about his concrete for years to come!
