Lester S. in Medford, MN had uneven concrete slabs throughout his driveway, and he felt there were not properly supported. He wanted to have a professional take a look at it, so he contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Don Mancilman, went onsite to inspect his concrete driveway and design the right solution. Don assured Lester that we would be able to raise and level his concrete with our PolyLevel foam concrete repair solution. Lester was pleased to learn that PolyLevel is a durable, faster and more affordable option compared to traditional concrete repair.

Our concrete repair experts began the process by drilling penny-sized holes into the concrete slabs where they needed to be raised. Then, they injected the polymer foam until the concrete was raised and leveled back to its original position. Lastly, they sealed all the cracks and seams in the driveway with our Nexus Pro sealant to give the driveway a beautiful, finished look. Lester loved the results of the project and he is glad he chose American Waterworks to help restore his driveway.

Job Stories From Medford, MN
Medford, MN, Basement Waterproofing Repair

A homeowner in Medford, MN, noticed the wallpaper on their walls was beginning to separate and fall apart. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner began looking into "interior french drain contractors". One of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner took a closer look at previous waterproofing products. After they saw our eye-catching before and afters, the homeowner knew that we were the perfect company for their project. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Zac. A few weeks later, Zac promptly arrived at the home and began the detailed inspection of the entire basement. While completing the inspection, Zac confirmed that several areas were suffering from water intrusion. To prevent these issues from progressing, Zac recommended waterproofing the entire basement with our interior French drain system. The homeowner agreed with Zac's recommendations, then he sent the plan to our Logistics team to give the final stamp of approval. As soon as our Logistics team received the plans, they scheduled and built the project. A few weeks later, our Foreman, Chris, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Zac and his team started by installing WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. After the WaterGuard was secured, the crew shifted to attaching CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching it to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Once the CleanSpace was attached to the basement walls, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. If you notice your basement is suffering from a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

High Radon Levels Get Mitigated in Medford, MN

A homeowner from Medford, MN, was chatting with a neighbor one day when he learned that they had a radon mitigation system installed by American Waterworks a few days prior. Over the next few weeks, the homeowner grew increasingly worried about whether or not the air circulating in his home was safe or not, so he decided to test his home for radon. He bought a home test from a local home improvement store, and when the results came back, he was shocked at how high they were. He didn't want any harm to come to his family, so he decided to look into radon mitigation MN, and on the recommendation of his neighbor, decided to sign up for one of our FREE estimates. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Romeo, headed out to the home to see what could be done.

Romeo did a thorough inspection of the home and focused on the ideal spot to place a mitigation system, should the customer decide to go with American Waterworks. Romeo then met with the homeowner to discuss the next steps of the process. He began by saying that the homeowner was right to contact us. He then said that due to the high radon levels, he was recommending the homeowner install a mitigation system. When installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon abatement system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner was thrilled to hear that our solution would protect his family, so he agreed and scheduled the job for several weeks later.

On the day of the installation, Dakota, one of our Radon Foremen, and his team quickly and seamlessly installed the radon mitigation system in the attic of the home. Now our customer can have faith that the air circulating in his home is as safe as can be!

Severely Cracked Foundation Wall Stabilized in Medford, MN

Matt B. had two large stair-step like cracks on one of his foundation walls in his basement. He was worried about the underlying problems this could be causing on his home and he wanted a professional to look at it, so he called American Waterworks. Our Design Specialist, Rick Weber, went to his home to inspect his foundation and design a solution. Matt was pleased with the thorough plan that Rick developed, so he decided to move forward with the installation.

Our production team installed three wall anchors on the wall with the large cracks. They dug three holes outside of the home that lined up with where the anchors would be installed. Then, they drilled small holes into the wall and inserted long metal rods. They placed anchor plates of each end of the rods and tightened them. Once the anchors were completely tightened, Matt could see a dramatic improvement in the stability of the wall. Our foundation repair systems are guaranteed for a lifetime, so Matt is confident that he chose the right long-term solution for his home.
