A homeowner in Nora Springs, IA went down to her basement to get something from storage and found something unexpected. A small puddle of water had formed at the base of some of the walls and had already caused some damage. She was concerned about what this meant for the state of her basement but didn't know how to move forward with the process by herself. She contacted American Waterworks and signed up for a FREE no-obligation estimate to learn more. We sent over Design Specialist Brady Swenson to discuss things over with her and inspect the basement area himself. Brady discovered the water damage and knew just the solution to stop it for good and prevent any more problems for the homeowner. The homeowner was pleased to hear this and scheduled a date for the installations. Foreman Raul Barroso and his crew went to the site, ready to install some waterproofing products for the basement. The crew started the project out by jackhammering channels along the perimeter of the basement. They filled them with drainage stone, followed by the WaterGuard system and more clean stone. WaterGuard is specifically engineered to intercept water at the perimeter of the basement and send it safely away. They also replaced the old sump pump with a new SuperSump Plus to more effectively keep up with the water coming in. A feed line was attached from the drain system to push the water to the new pump and go up and out of the home. Once everything was in place and properly working, they poured new concrete to over the new drain system and around the pump for protection. The homeowner was impressed with the work and happy she had used our services.
