Rita H. in Rockford, IA was tired of dealing with a wet basement after every heavy rain and snow melt. It was starting to cause damage to her home, and she knew she needed to find a permanent solution. She contacted American Waterworks, and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, to meet with her and propose a unique solution for her home.

Our Foreman, Austin Lucas, and his production crew installed 112 feet of our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of the basement, and our recommended TripleSafe sump pump in the corner. Water is now properly guided through the WaterGuard to the sump pump, and from there, it is expelled from the home. Rita was happy with the results, and glad she chose to invest in the long-term protection of her home.

Job Stories From Rockford, IA
Sunken Driveway in Rockford, IA Gets Lifted

A homeowner in Rockford, IA, was facing sunken concrete slabs along his driveway, causing a trip hazard. After pushing off the project for so long, the homeowner decided that it was time to address the issue. The homeowner then contacted us to schedule his FREE estimate.

In about a week, our Design Specialist, Nate B., arrived at the home to inspect the area, answer any questions, and provide the best solution for the homeowner. Nate explained to the homeowner that one of the common causes of sinking slabs is soil washout. When it rains or floods, water moves through the ground and washes away the supporting soils. Over time, this causes voids in the soil, causing the slab to sink. To fix this issue, Nate recommended our PolyLevel, a waterproof foam expanding formula that effectively lifts settled slabs. After reviewing Nate's proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and scheduled the installation date with our crew.

In a couple of weeks, one of our crews arrived at the home for the installation. PolyLevel is installed by first drilling small holes into the slabs. PolyLevel is then injected beneath the slab, expanding and filling in the voids in the soil. Once the slabs have been lifted to the desired level, the crew seals the holes with cement. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Rockford, IA, Crawl Space Encapsulated

A homeowner in Rockford, IA, noticed it was about time to schedule their annual maintenance appointment. The homeowner called our Service team to schedule their service appointment. Our Service team scheduled the appointment, then it was assigned to one of our Service Technicians, Braden. A few weeks later, the annual maintenance appointment arrived and Braden promptly made his way to the home. Once he arrived, Braden began the detailed inspection of all the previously installed products. Braden confirmed that all the products were running correctly, however, he recommended encapsulating the entire crawl space. Knowing this would be the best plan of action, the homeowner decided to go ahead with the recommendations. Once he was given the green light by the homeowner, Braden passed the proposal to our Logistics team for the final stamp of approval. After the plans were approved by our Logistics team, it was scheduled for the following weeks. Once the project date arrived, our Foreman, Matt, and his crew traveled to the home to begin. First, Matt and his team started by installing Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. The CleanSpace Drainage Matting gives the water flooding into your crawl space a channel below your crawl space liner. One member of the crew begins by laying the drainage matting while another puts one over the top. This is a very efficient and swift installation process. After the CleanSpace Drainage Matting is installed, the crew can go in and install CleanSpace on the crawl space walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching them to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Once the Drainage Matting and CleanSpace was secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. Yet again, the homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. Concrete Repaired and Lifted in Rockford, IA

After noticing their walkways were becoming significantly uneven, a landlord in Rockford, IA, knew they needed help. Hoping to avoid total concrete replacement, the homeowner looked into concrete lifting and leveling services near Rockford, IA. Unsure who to work with, the landlord asked people around their community for any recommendations. Several individuals recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner took a closer look at our company. After seeing our impressive reviews and photos, the homeowner knew we were the best company for them. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Romeo, to the home to begin the project. Once Romeo arrived, he started his detailed inspection of the concrete around the apartments. Romeo found that several walkways were sinking and cracked. After he completed his inspection, he shared his findings with the homeowner. Additionally, Romeo was able to come up with a solution for the apartment. The landlord agreed with Romeo's proposal, so these plans were sent to our office to begin the project. Once the office approved the plans, they scheduled the project and assigned it to our Foreman, Dylon, and his crew. Dylon and his crew traveled to the home and started the project. First, Dylon and his crew installed PolyLevel underneath the struggling walkway slabs. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to filling the cracks and replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro Sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. Once the project was complete, Dylon and his crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew.
