Wanting to solve the issue before more snow arrived, the homeowner began looking for the best waterproofing company near them. After asking a local Facebook group, the homeowner saw that multiple people suggest to work with us, American Waterworks. Eric arrived at the home and he began his detailed inspection to find where the water was coming from. After taking a closer look, Eric determined the water was seeping from the walls. As soon as he found the cause, Eric could provide a solution for the homeowner. Eric suggested installing the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement and replacing the sump pump. The homeowner agreed and production preparations commenced. Our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew were assigned to complete the job. When they arrived, they began by installing protective plastic on the homeowner's belongings. After hanging the plastic, the crew started installing the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. After the WaterGuard was installed, the crew mechanically attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a waterproof plastic vapor barrier ideal for basement walls. The crew successfully installed all the items, so they took down the protective plastic and left the home.
