Alisha, a homeowner in Stanton, ND, was searching for assistance with her basement issues. Groundwater was leaking through the cement floors and cinder block walls; the water stayed close to the foundation and saturated the area. Dylan, our Foreman, headed out to the house with his crew and got to work. First, they created a full-perimeter WaterGuard System with a lateral feed line where issues were present. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, our team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. The crew then added a half-wall of our CleanSpace to encapsulate the basement to prevent moisture and mold from affecting the rest of the foundation. Then, our crew inserted our SuperSump® Premier Pump System. It is engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods, even during heavy water intrusion. The SuperSump® includes a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. To direct water away from the home's foundation so that it would not leak back into the basement, the team added a 30-foot discharge line from the West end of the basement. Furthermore, American Waterworks can help prevent wintertime freeze-up of discharge lines. We installed the patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of the home and ejects water away from the foundation if the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that her basement had been transformed, and she no longer had to worry about water intrusion!

A homeowner in Stanton, ND, was looking for a solution to the water intrusion issues in their basement. Knowing American Waterworks does excellent work, the homeowner called our Appointment Center to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the appointment was set, we sent Design Specialist, Richie, to evaluate the basement. Following his evaluation, Richie recommended the homeowners waterproof the basement with the WaterGuard system. Wanting to make their basement a clean place again, the homeowners agreed. After the plans were approved, the crew was sent out to start the waterproofing. To start, the crew installed the WaterGuard system around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard system is our patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. The WaterGuard is mainly used as a drain system due to its resistance to water clogs, easy access ports, and ability to collect leaking water. The crew dug channels around the perimeter of the basement and then placed the WaterGuard in those channels. Once in place, the WaterGuard is covered with rocks and cement. Next, the crew installed the SuperSump + Pump System. This sump pump is designed to keep basements dry and healthy for long periods, even during heavy water intrusion. A discharge line is then installed outside the home to direct water away from the foundation. Additionally, the crew installed the IceGuard, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside the home and ejects water away from the foundation. After the crew completed the waterproofing, they cleaned the job site. The homeowner was given peace of mind knowing they have a state-of-the-art waterproof system.
