American Waterworks Case Studies: Wet Basement and Settling Foundation Restored in Shafer, MN

Challenge

Craig S. in Shafer, MN had a sagging floor and water leaking into his basement. He was concerned about the pressure being put on his support beams and the damage that had occurred in the basement because of the water. He had noticed that the moisture in his basement had also created a musty smell, so he was worried that their air quality was being compromised, so he decided to contact American Waterworks. 

Solution

We were able to successfully waterproof Craig’s basement by installing a full perimeter of WaterGuard, CleanSpace and SuperSump sump pump in the corner of the basement. Then, we installed SmartJacks to provide support for the floor beams. Installing the SmartJacks raised the sagging floor and stopped any further deterioration. Craig has been able to enjoy a dry, stable basement since the installation.
