Challenge

A homeowner in Moorhead, MN was scrolling through social media when he learned of the dangerous health risks of radon. The homeowner learned that radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer and was concerned that his family was breathing in the toxic fumes. The homeowner took action by going to his local convenience store to purchase a radon testing kit. In a couple of days, the test results were above 4 pCi/L, which is the EPA’s required action for radon. The homeowner then contacted us to schedule his FREE estimate.

Solution

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, James N., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection, answer any questions, and provide the best solution for the homeowner. During the inspection, James explained to the homeowner that our radon mitigation system would need to be installed at the lowest level of the home. This is done this way so that our system can suction out the radon-rich air before it can enter the home. The homeowner understood and agreed to James’s proposal.

In a couple of weeks, our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson P., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began installing the system by placing a PVC pipe into the footing of the home. This pipe is then connected to the radon mitigation system which is installed outside of the home. After the crew was done with the installation and the system was working properly, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
