Schedule Annual Maintenance
This snap shot was taken in a dirt crawl space below a mansion in Melrose, WI. Our first task, was to dig out around the floor supports so American Waterworks could properly insulate and install our CleanSpace vapor barrier.
Next a crawl space vapor barrier was installed to keep water and moisture from your crawl space and to properly drain away flooded water that collects underneath.
Because TerraBlock is able to be installed on uneven floors, this product combined with the drainage liner and makes for the perfect way to keep Steve's utilities (such as your furnace, heating ducts, hot water pipes, and water heater) from having to work in a cold, damp crawl space. It will also protect the wood and stored objects in his crawl space from water vapor and humidity, controlling mold.
Sealing off the crawl space foundation with our specialized spray foam insulation to prevent any further energy loss.
RimTight rim joist insulation was applied to the board just above the foundation at the perimeter of the home's floor system to prevent any future leaks of unconditioned air from the outside that contributed to cold floors in the winter and condensation/humidity in the summer.
Finally, the CleanSpace® Crawl Space Vapor Barrier was installed on the walls and floors, preventing any future water vapor and humidity from passing through. By keeping this crawl space dry, American Waterworks is protecting this home's structure and insulation from and future mold and rot.
Steve was gracious enough to leave American Waterworks this top notch review!
Steve L. of Melrose, Wisconsin is continually looking to preserve the history of this 160-year-old mansion built by early settler and lumber baron William H. Polleys. After noticing significant heat loss coming from the dirt crawl spaces located below the home, Steve knew it was time to contact a professional to prevent any further energy loss or future water and rodent damage.
After searching the web for the right contractor, Steve found American Waterworks and thought we would make a good fit. Shortly after submitting his request for a free estimate online, an appointment was set for Dustin Loftus to evaluate Steve's crawl space onsite.
After a thorough analysis, Dustin decided that it would be best to promote good drainage along the crawl space floor, so he recommended installing our innovative CleanSpace drainage matting system. The raised dimples on our CleanSpace® Drainage Matting gives any water flooding into the crawl space a channel underneath the liner to direct moisture outside of the home.
The next step was to seal and insulate the crawl space by combining our puncture-resistant, padded insulation product called TerraBlock™ and our CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier. This seamless combination, along with a spray foam insulation application to the crawl space walls and floor joist pockets, American Waterworks was able to protect Steve's home, keeping his energy bills low and prevent any further problems caused by water or rodent intrusion.
As you can see from the review, Steve is very pleased with the solution and has noticed a drastic change in the efficiency of the Libke Mansion since American Waterworks was able to make his home whole again.
