Lowering Radon Levels in Star Prairie, WI
Challenge
In Star Prairie, WI, a homeowner came upon an article that went over the dangers of radon gas. Through this article, the homeowner learned that radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that comes from the breakdown of soil beneath the foundation. When inhaled over a long period of time, it increases the risk of lung cancer. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the US, which makes it extremely important to take action when the radon levels in your home are high. After learning this information, the homeowner decided to test the radon levels in their home. After a couple of days, the test results were above 4pCi/L, and the homeowner contacted us to schedule their FREE estimate.
Solution
In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Kyle P., arrived at the home for the inspection. During the inspection, he took a close look at the layout of the home and worked closely with the homeowner on the best placement of our radon mitigation system. He recommended having the fan installed on the exterior of the home and connecting it to the concrete floor in the basement. This system is designed this way so that it can suction out the radon gas and expel it above the roofline before it can enter the home. Happy with the solution, the homeowner decided to move forward with the project.
In about a month, our Foreman, Gus R., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. After the successful installation of our radon mitigation system, the crew cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
