A homeowner in St Cloud, MN, recently came upon a blog that went over the dangers of radon gas when inhaled over a long period of time. Concerned for the health of their family, the homeowner purchased a radon test kit. In a couple of days, the test results were above 4pCi/L, and the homeowner quickly took action by looking into radon mitigators in the area. Solution
In a couple of days, one of our Design Specialists arrived at the home for the inspection. During the inspection, they took a close look at the layout of the home and worked with the homeowner to create the best placement of our radon mitigation system. They recommended having the fan installed on the exterior of the home and connecting it to the basement floor. This is installed this way so that our system could suction out the radon-rich gas beneath the home and expel it above the roofline before it can enter the home. Happy with the recommendations, the homeowner decided to move forward with the project.
In about a month, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began by drilling a hole into the concrete floor in the basement. Then PVC piping was installed and added to create an extraction point at the exterior of the home. Once this is completed, the fan is installed, and additional piping is added above the roofline. Once they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
