Linda, from Pequot Lakes, MN, was looking for some solutions for her home's basement space. The basement was experiencing water intrusion, so she decided to call American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. Shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Shane, headed out to the property.
Following a thorough inspection, Shane gave his recommendations to Linda, suggesting that she invest in our WaterGuard system as well as our SuperSump Plus. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing as it is installed below the floor but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone", making it harder to clog. Linda agreed, and our crew got to work.
Our Foreman, Juan, and his crew began implementing our WaterGuard System, a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. The crew then broke out concrete to make a feed line. From there, our crew installed our SuperSump Plus Sump Pump to the feedline. Our crew filled the open gaps with rock, and replaced the concrete. The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line and expels it from the home.
After all was said and done, Linda was very glad she made the decision to call American Waterworks and had her peace of mind restored.

A customer from Brainerd, MN, got in contact with us when he began to notice the crawl space underneath his lake home was collected water. He knew that moisture in his crawl space could invite unwanted mold, mildew, and musty odors. When he called in, he cashed in on his FREE estimate, which entitled him to a thorough inspection of the issue by one of our Design Specialists. Our Fargo-based Design Specialist, Richie, headed out to the property to complete his inspection. Once finished, he was able to make a few recommendations as to how our customer could fix the issue. First, he recommended that we use our CleanSpace vapor barrier for crawl spaces. Richie explained that this solution would consist of our crew wrapping the crawl space in the tarp-like material. He went on to say that, when completed, this barrier would act to keep moisture out and keep the space energy efficient. Next, Richie recommended the placement of a crawl space drain, the ideal way to drain water in a dirt crawl space without clogging or drain failure. This drain would attach to a sump pump or other drainage line, keeping the water out of the space. Finally, Richie recommended the job be finished with our Spray Foam, a sprayable foam used to seal any remaining holes or points of entry for unwanted moisture.
Our customer agreed and work began shortly after. One of our Foreman from Fargo, Zach, and his crew were able to complete the installations swiftly. The crew ended up installing 1466 sqft of our CleanSpace both on the walls and wrapped around the piers of the space, they installed another 116 sqft of Spray Foam and placed two smart drains throughout the space.
When the job had been completed, our customer was relieved to know that he could go back to enjoying his summer lake home with no worries when rain is in the forecast.

Tom from Crosby, ND had begun to notice a sizable amount of water finding its way into the basement of his lakeside home. He worried that the water intrusion could lead to issues like mold, mildew, rotting wood, and more, creating an even more costly project to fix down the road. He did some research and found our company and gave us a call. When he called in, we set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a thorough, no-obligation inspection by one of our System Design Specialists. A few weeks later our Design Specialist, Kole, headed out to the property to assess the issue. Once he completed his walkthrough, he informed Tom that issues like the ones he was facing are not uncommon when the home is by a large body of water. He recommended that Tom have our WaterGuard drainage system and TripleSafe Sump Pump installed to correct the issue. He explained to Tom that the WaterGuard is a french drainage system installed below the floor, resting on top of the foundation footing, keeping it out of the mud zone where other drains can clog. He went on to say that this system would lead water to our TripleSafe, the most reliable sump system that provides three levels of protection for damp spaces. Tom agreed with Kole's recommendations and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Kevin, ended up installing 128 ft of our WaterGuard, and 1 of our TripleSafe sump pumps. Once the job was completed, Tom was happy to know his basement water issues were in the past.
