Mauston, WI, Wet Basement Repaired

A homeowner in Mauston, WI, knew it was time to repair their water-damaged basement. Unsure who to work with, the homeowner looked into "home repair basements". At the top of the list stood us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to take a deeper dive into our products and services. Impressed with our award-winning basement repair products, the homeowner knew we were the ideal choice for their project. Next, the homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Darin. Once Darin arrived at the home, he introduced himself to the homeowner and began the thorough inspection. During his inspection, Darin confirmed the basement was suffering from water intrusion. To prevent the issue from worsening, Darin recommended fully waterproofing the basement. Knowing this was their best plan of action, the homeowner decided to go ahead with his recommendations. Next, Darin passed the proposal off to our Logistics team to build and schedule the project. Our Logisitcs team built the project, then it was scheduled for the following months. Once the project date arrived, our Foreman, Chris, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Chris and his team began by installing five GeoLock Wall Anchors on the east wall. The crew installs the GeoLocks by digging a section of the ground to place the first GeoLock anchor. Once the GeoLock is in place, another anchor is attached to the interior wall. Both GeoLocks are connected by a small, steel pole direct through the ground. Once the GeoLocks are secured, the soil is put back on top of the ground. Along with the GeoLock installation, the homeowner asked that the tightening kit be included as well. This will allow the homeowner to straighten their walls over time. Next, the crew shifted to installing all the waterproofing products in the basement. First, the crew installed WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the SuperSump+. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the SuperSump+ to the new WaterGuard. Finally, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home.
