The best solution for a wet basement is to act quickly. The longer standing water remains in your basement, the more likely mold is to develop. Fortunately, American Waterworks is ready to make timely basement waterproofing repairs.

It's easy to see what the negatives of having a basement waterproofing problem are, but some homeowners might feel that they can deal with these issues rather than seek help. The truth is that not only can a wet, humid basement create more damage than you might expect, but a dry basement can also provide a lot of value to your home.

A waterproofed basement is easy to finish, and even if you aren't planning on finishing your basement, you'll still be able to use it for storage.

Crawl space encapsulation can keep your home mold-free

Just like basements, water and moisture can infiltrate a crawl space and lead to mold and rot. And when crawl spaces have vents or are left totally open to the outside, other problems, like variable temperatures and critters, can start to take their toll on your home.

American Waterworks installs CleanSpace crawl space repair and encapsulation products to prevent crawl space mold and moisture. Using a crawl space vapor barrier, doors, and access wells to help seal the space, we'll keep your crawl space separate from the rest of the world. We also offer crawl space versions of our sump pumps, drainage matting, dehumidifiers, and insulation to make your crawl space dry and temperate.

Foundation repair and concrete leveling

Is your foundation showing signs of settlement or wear? Your foundation is not only the crucial basis from which the rest of your home gets its structural integrity, but it's also a major focus point when you go to sell your home - and if it's in bad shape, you'll have a hard time selling. In addition to our basement waterproofing expertise, American Waterworks is also a foundation repair expert with the tools and techniques needed to solve common foundation problems. These problems include:

  • Settlement and sinking
  • Bowing walls and wall cracks
  • Floor cracks and uneven floors
  • Sagging crawl spaces
  • Foundation heave
  • Sticking windows and doors
  • Collapsing retaining walls
  • Street creep repair
  • Tilting chimneys

American Waterworks makes use of foundation piers, wall anchors and reinforcement systems, crawl space support jacks, and many other products to prevent your foundation from getting worse. And oftentimes, these products will completely mitigate the initial signs of damage - your walls will straighten and cracks will become invisible. With the assistance of Foundation Supportworks, a foundation repair dealer network, we know we can restore value to your home.

When concrete slab settlement is the brunt of your concern, we can help with concrete lifting and leveling services. PolyLevel® is an award-winning concrete leveling technique, and it is vastly superior to traditional methods like slab jacking. It uses a lightweight, environmentally-friendly foam to lift and level any concrete slab, without causing long-term harm to your property.

Soaked Wall in Byron, MN

A homeowner in Byron, MN, found that the walls in their basement were soaked after a rainstorm. Unnerved by this discovery, the homeowner wanted to have an expert inspect their home immediately. After doing some research into a variety of companies, the homeowner decided to work with us, American Waterworks. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was finalized, the home awaited the arrival of Darin, one of our Design Specialists. Darin arrived at the home and started the detailed analysis of the basement. Following his detailed analysis, Darin confirmed that the basement was leaking water. To stop the water from continuing, Darin recommended installing the WaterGuard to keep their basement dry. After comparing all their options, the homeowner decided to go with Darin's recommendations. Once they were approved, the plans were sent to Kiko and his crew. Kiko and his crew made their way out to the home to begin the installation. They began by unloading and prepping the basement for production as soon as they arrived. When the basement was ready, the crew started the WaterGuard installation.  The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Additionally, the crew dug a feedline from across the basement to ensure it ties to the current sump system. The crew finished the project and cleaned up their materials. The homeowner was in awe of the quick and excellent work completed by the crew. Uneven Driveway Restored in Rochester, MN

A homeowner in Rochester, MN had dealt with minor cracks and an uneven driveway for a few years. During the winter months when snow had covered the surface, she would have to shovel, and it would get caught on the extreme cracks, making the process difficult and inefficient. Now that it was summer, she was worried about the worsened cracked areas being a tripping hazard for her and others who visited the home. She decided to look into concrete repairing companies that had helped out others in the Rochester area and found the American Waterworks website. She scheduled one of our FREE no-obligation estimates and awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Mike Dexter. When Mike made a visit to the site, he talked over the homeowner's concerns and informed her of two of our products that could help repair the driveway. She agreed to the plans and was happy to have an answer to her concrete problems. We sent over Foreman Ryan Trogstad and his crew to install the products and get the driveway back to perfect condition. They first started the process by drilling small holes throughout the driveway and inserted ports to connect to the space below the slabs. Next, they filled the PolyLevel, a high-density polyurethane foam, through the ports to fill the space and lift the slabs back up. Next, the holes, cracks, and joints in between slabs were filled and sealed with NexusPro. This is a flexible and durable sealant for damaged concrete. Lifted Sidewalk in Rochester, MN

In Rochester, MN a homeowner was unhappy with the look of his front sidewalk, as the concrete slabs had spread out and increased the joint spaces in between them. Wanting to make a change earlier in the summer rather than later, he began his search for a concrete repair company. The American Waterworks page showed up during his search and he was slightly familiar with the name from living in Rochester. Finding out we offered FREE estimates, he signed up for one and looked forward to speaking more with an expert. When Design Specialist Mike Dexter arrived at the home, he carried out a detailed inspection and talked things over with the homeowner. Mike determined that the best solution for the homeowner's concerns was to lift, level, and seal the sidewalk areas. The homeowner was eager to move forward with the process and agreed to the installation plans. When the day came for the installations, Foreman Reese Rinken and his crew arrived at the site and began the project by drilling small holes through the concrete. Next, they inserted ports through the holes to reach the empty space below and injected the PolyLevel to fill in the void and immediately raise the sinking concrete slabs. Next, they filled the voids along with the empty joints in between the slabs with the NexusPro sealant, which resists UV rays, meaning it won't ever crack, bubble, or dry out. To finish the project, the crew placed a layer of native sand on top of the sealant for a pleasing final look to the sidewalk.
