Debbie from Saint Cloud, MN had several bowing walls in her basement, so she called the office staff at American Waterworks to set up a Free Estimate. We sent out a Design Specialist to her house to figure out what solutions would be best to fix her current situation. Cracking Wall Distresses Homeowner in Brooten, MN

A homeowner in Brooten, MN, inspecting their basement noticed cracks spreading on their basement wall. Determined to solve the issue before the frigid Minnesota winter comes, the homeowners signed up for their FREE estimate with American Waterworks. We sent our Service Technician, Marc, to inspect the issue and construct the perfect solution for the homeowners. Marc suggested that two PowerBraces be placed to prevent the wall from bowing further. PowerBraces is a patented foundation wall repair system that is designed to stabilize failing basement walls and has the potential to straighten walls over time. Both PowerBraces were placed near the stairs along the southern basement wall. Additionally, American Waterworks recommended that the customer remove all flooring in the low and no-access crawl spaces, so the crew can conduct a full inspection. The crew left the homeowners delighted with a stabilized basement wall. American Waterworks is delighted to leave another customer safe and happy in their home.

Stabilization Concerns in Saint Martin, MN

A concerned homeowner in Saint Martin, MN, found significant cracks growing along their basement wall. Unsure of the origin, the homeowner wanted a foundation repair company to come and take a look. The homeowner signed up for American Waterworks' FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist, Daniel, traveled to the home to investigate the concerns. After his detailed inspection, Daniel determined the wall was showing early signs of wall failure. Daniel recommended that the homeowners stabilize the basement wall and they agreed. As soon as they were given the go-ahead, the crew prepared to begin the job. Before the crew could start, the homeowners were asked to move personal belongings from the wall and remove the patio.

Our Foreman, Raul, and his crew began the project by installing four Geolocks on the south basement wall. The Geolock anchors are an innovative wall anchor system that permanently stabilizes walls by anchoring your wall to the virgin soil behind the foundation. They installed a metal rod in each hole from the outside soil to the inside of the foundation. Then, they tighten an anchor on each side of the rod, which allows the walls to straighten back to their original position. Finally, the crew covered the hole with soil to finish the Geolock installation. The crew then installed two CarbonArmor strips on the west and east basement walls. CarbonArmor is a carbon fiber basement wall repair solution that reinforces your bowing walls and repairs cracks. They installed the CarbonArmor by cleaning the wall, and then applying a strong adhesive. Once the adhesive is applied, the CarbonArmor is applied and the wall is reinforced. After the CarbonArmor was installed, the crew cleaned the basement up and went to their next job. The homeowners were pleased with the excellent work done by the crew and thankful their basement was properly stabilized. Champlin, MN, Basement Waterproofed

A homeowner in Champlin, MN, grew anxious after discovering water stains underneath an old carpet in their basement. After searching through local waterproofing companies, the homeowner's eye was caught by our high ratings and reviews online. Once they saw our waterproofing service, the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate on our website. Once the appointment was set, we sent Design Specialist, Jesse, to inspect the water damage in the basement. Following his evaluation, Jesse recommended the homeowners waterproof the basement with the WaterGuard system. Wanting to ensure their basement was prepared for spring, the homeowners agreed. After the plans were approved, our Foreman, Crescencio, and his crew were sent out to start the waterproofing. To start, Crescencio and the crew installed the WaterGuard system around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard system is our patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. The WaterGuard is mainly used as a drain system due to its resistance to water clogs, easy access ports, and ability to collect leaking water. The crew dug channels around the perimeter of the basement and then placed the WaterGuard in those channels. Once in place, the WaterGuard is covered with rocks and cement. Next, the crew installed the SuperSump + Pump System. This sump pump is designed to keep basements dry and healthy for long periods, even during heavy water intrusion. To wrap up the waterproofing installation, the crew installed the IceGuard, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside the home and ejects water away from the foundation. After the crew completed the waterproofing, they left the basement better than they arrived. The homeowner was relived to know they have a state-of-the-art waterproof system. Cracked Driveway in Cold Spring, MN

In Cold Spring, MN a homeowner was interested in fixing up his driveway. He was tired of dealing with the uneven surface whenever he drove on it and didn't want to leave the many cracks to get worse. Going online to see what options were in the Minnesota area, he quickly found the American Waterworks website. The homeowner had heard of our company before, but wanted to learn more so he went to our website and found the American Waterworks reviews page. He was impressed with all of the positive comments from past customers and was confident in our services, so he signed up for a FREE estimate. One of our Design Specialists went to the home to complete the estimate and determined that installing two of our products would prevent any more problems from happening to the driveway. The homeowner was relieved to hear something could be done and agreed to the project plans. Later, our Foreman, Patrick Burnes, and his crew arrived at the site and installed our PolyLevel solution and NexusPro sealant. They started by drilling small pencil-sized holes throughout the surface and inserted ports in the holes to reach the empty space below the slabs. The PolyLevel foam was then injected in the ports and filled in the space until the concrete was fully lifted. The crew filled in the holes with NexusPro and also the cracks that were scattered throughout the concrete. A layer of native sand was placed on top of the sealant for a smooth final look for the driveway. The homeowner was impressed with our team's hard work and was happy to have a smooth, crack-free driveway again.

Unstable Crawl Space Gets a Solution in Kimball, MN

A homeowner from Kimball, MN, noticed that the floor in her room above her crawl space was beginning to sag. She was worried about what this could mean, and immediately went to the internet to search crawl space repairs near me. When American Waterworks popped up, she decided to sign up for one of our FREE estimates, and a few weeks later, Shane N, one of our then Design Specialists, made a stop at the home.

After getting a good look at the crawl space and the structural issues, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. Dustin explained that because it's built directly underneath your home, your crawl space plays a key role in your home's structural integrity. Crawl spaces bear this weight through the foundation walls and crawl space support columns. However, many crawl spaces are designed with a support system that is either inadequate, rotting, or has soils underneath the support posts that cannot bear the weight of your home. To combat this issue, Dustin recommended the installation of our Crawl Space SmartJacks. This system is an adjustable supplemental support system used specifically for sagging crawl spaces. This crawl space support system is unique in that it's made with strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel. Because your system will not develop rust, it will remain adjustable for years, should you need to perform future adjustments. The homeowner liked the sound of Dustin's plan, and scheduled the job for some time later.

Eventually, the day of the installation rolled around. Our production team, led by their Foreman, Victor S, installed 8 of our SmartJacks throughout the crawl space, restoring the floor above. Now our customer can rest easy knowing her crawl space worries have been dealt with!

High Radon Levels Get Conquered in Cold Spring, MN

A homeowner from Cold Spring, MN, had just learned of the dangers radon gas poses to a household and completed an at-home test, which came back with high levels of radon. She didn't want her family to be inhaling harmful toxins, so she decided to search for radon mitigation MN. When she found our website, she looked through our pictures of radon mitigation system and eventually decided to claim her FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Gary S, one of our Design Specialists, headed out to the home to see what could be done.

When Gary arrived, he got right to work conducting his estimate. When he finished, he was ready to meet with the homeowner to discuss next steps. Because of the high radon levels, Gary recommended our radon mitigation systemWhen installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon abatement system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. Before installing a radon mitigation system, the contractor will run a radon test to determine if radon abatement is necessary.

A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner agreed and the work was scheduled for several weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Jackson, was able to install the system without any issues. Now, our customer can breathe easy in her home, knowing her high radon levels have been conquered.

Leaking Basement Waterproofed in St. Cloud, MN

In St. Cloud, MN, a concerned homeowner reached out to us after noticing undesirable signs of water leaks and mold growth in their basement. This was no small issue, as water seepage can compromise the integrity of a home and promote unhealthy living conditions. Our team at American Waterworks quickly scheduled a FREE home inspection following the homeowner's inquiry, positioning us to understand the full scope of the challenge at hand.

In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Daniel R., conducted a thorough assessment. The problem was clear: an inadequate existing drainage system was unable to handle water infiltration. Daniel's proposed solution was to install a combination of WaterGuard, SuperSump+, and IceGuard products—a comprehensive approach tailored to the homeowner’s needs. Implementing the fix began with our production team, led by Francisco E., carefully installing 12ft of the WaterGuard system, a discreet and effective drainage solution situated below the basement floor. This system efficiently channels water to the SuperSump, a reliable sump pump optimized for high-volume water evacuation. Backup readiness was ensured by integrating the IceGuard system, which permits water discharge even if the pipe freezes—a vital consideration for the cold St. Cloud winters. Upon completion, the results spoke to our commitment to excellence; the homeowner now enjoys a dry, mold-free basement. They have peace of mind with a robust system that offers reliable, year-round protection. Our expert handling of the project reasserts why homeowners continue to trust American Waterworks for waterproofing needs.

Leaking Basement Floor Waterproofed in Saint Stephen, MN

In Saint Stephen, MN, a homeowner contacted us after noticing persistent wet spots along the edges of their basement. Concerned about potential water damage and mold, they reached out to our knowledgeable team at American Waterworks. Starting with a comprehensive inspection, our Design Specialist diagnosed the problem: water seepage was entering the basement through foundation walls and building up in sub-floor areas. To address this, we proposed a detailed waterproofing solution, tailored to the specific needs of the home. Our experienced Production Team installed the WaterGuard system, an efficient sub-floor perimeter drain designed to capture and channel water away before it reached basement surfaces. This reliable system redirects wall and floor seepage to our installed SuperSump. The SuperSump’s robust Zoeller cast iron pump ensures high-volume water removal, equipped with alarms for added customer assurance. Recognizing the potential for frozen discharge lines, particularly in Minnesota’s harsh winters, the IceGuard system was introduced as a preventive measure. IceGuard ensures a consistent escape route in case of pipe freeze or blockage, maintaining the functionality of our waterproofing system, even under extreme conditions. Upon completion of the installation, we ensured the area was clean and restored. The homeowner’s peace of mind was paramount; our systems provided an effective defense against flooding, keeping the basement dry and useable. This experience highlights our commitment to providing durable and long-lasting solutions, delivering remarkable service by maintaining clear communication and field expertise. Homeowners in and around Saint Stephen can confidently trust us to handle their basement waterproofing needs with precision and care.
