Job Stories From Worth County, IA
PolyLevel Cures Cracked Driveway in Northwood, IA

Lee O. in Northwood, IA noticed that after the winter, his driveway has sunk about two inches from the lip of his garage. It was becoming a trip hazard and it frustrated him every time he shoveled the driveway in the winter because the shovel kept getting caught on the uneven concrete. He wanted to find an effective and affordable way to repair his driveway instead of having to replace it. He saw a commercial for American Waterworks and was interested to learn more about our PolyLevel concrete repair solution. He contacted us, and we sent a Design Specialist to his home to provide him with a FREE estimate. Lee was pleased to learn that PolyLevel is more affordable, non-invasive, and efficient than traditional concrete repair.

Our PolyLevel expert drilled penny-sized holes into multiple spots of the driveway where the foam would be injected. He injected the PolyLevel foam until the concrete was leveled and raised to the appropriate height. Once the foam is injected, it takes about 30 minutes to cure, so Lee was able to see the transformation almost immediately. The entire process took a couple of hours. Lee is glad he chose American Waterworks and now he can enjoy a raised and level driveway for years to come!

Dangerous Levels of Radon Gas Mitigated in Manly, IA

Karl S. in Manly, IA visited our booth at a home show and learned about the dangers of radon. He was shocked to learn that radon is the #2 cause of lung cancer and that it kills over 20,000 people each year. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is odorless, tasteless and colorless, so it cannot be detected without a test. Karl had not yet had his home tested and after learning about radon, he scheduled to have a test kit set up as soon as possible.

We tested Karl’s home and the results showed high levels of radon. He immediately wanted to have a radon system installed to protect his and his family’s health. Our radon technician installed the system by inserting a PVC pipe through the sump pump, which creates a suction point for the gas. Then, he ran the PVC pipe up the home and out through the roof to release the gas. There is a fan installed at the top of the pipe to ensure that the gas is pushed out. The installation only took a couple of hours and now their health will no longer be compromised because of radon.
