Home Protected from Radon and Water In Waldorf, MN

Charles, a homeowner in Waldorf, MN needed guidance in solving his water and radon issues. After scheduling his FREE estimate, our Design Specialist Lance headed out to the property for an inspection. He explained radon is a hazardous, invisible, and odorless gas that is the second leading cause of lung cancer behind cigarette smoking. Lance suggested having a new extraction point installed to depressurize the home. He explained that once the system was installed, it would work to pull Radon from the house, pipe it upwards through venting, and push it out and away from the home. Lance also walked Charles through our waterproofing WaterGuard system. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing as it is installed below the floor, but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone", making it harder to clog. Charles agreed with Ian's recommendation, and work began shortly after.

Our Foreman, Cameron, and his crew quickly and efficiently installed the system. First, our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. The team then covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Then, the SuperSump Plus. In addition, the plan was to add a discharge line to ensure the radon went up and out of the house.

Our team connected PVC piping from the sump pump to the ceiling and out of the home, where our team installed the system. The mitigation system is the heart of the system; if it isn't working properly, no radon can escape the home. Once they installed the system and its cover outside the home, they connected PVC piping from the system alongside the home until it reached the roof. The radon was able to escape the home quickly and efficiently. Charles was glad he got this taken care of, and his peace of mind was restored knowing he was breathing in safe air.

Wet Crawl Space Sealed in Dassel, MN

Jennifer S. of Dassel, MN had a wet, damp, and musty crawl space, causing problems such as mold, wood rot, and water moisture, and her friend referred American Waterworks for the repairs. She called our office and set up a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Michel Ramirez. Michel went to his home, carefully inspected the crawl space, and drew up a solution that worked for her and her budget. She was confident with Michel's proposal and got all of her questions answered, so she signed the proposal and moved forward with the project.

Our Foreman, Geno Mclain, and his crew member began the installation by cleaning out the crawl space and starting from the back of the crawl space to the front. Our team installed 896 square feet of our CleanSpace Encapsulation Moisture Barrier, which is a durable, white liner that prevents water vapor and humidity from invading the crawl space. Along with the prevention of mold and rot, a dry, clean crawl space keeps away odors and prevents the heat and cold from entering during the winter and summer seasons. The project took one and a half days, and Jennifer was pleased with the work that was completed!

Dassel, MN Driveway Repairs

A homeowner in Dassel, MN was tired of dealing with the bump from her sunken concrete at the top of the driveway. She knew she wanted to find a solution that would both get rid of the bump and be inexpensive. Going online to see what services were in the Minnesota area, she came across the American Waterworks company website. After she learned about our FREE estimates, she decided to sign up for her own to learn more about our work. One of our expert Design Specialists, Kevin Beseman, arrived at the home to inspect the concrete and prepare his recommendations for how to fix the problem. Kevin explained that our PolyLevel, a high-density polyurethane formula, would be able to lift and level the sinking concrete. He also talked about NexusPro, a flexible sealant that would work to fill in the unsightly empty joints. The homeowner agreed to the installations and when the day came, one of our Foremen and his crew went to the site and carefully installed both products. After the bump was removed and all joints sealed, the homeowner took a look at the final result and was very pleased.
