A homeowner in Cottage Grove, MN, saw their sidewalk was starting to show its age. Several sections of the sidewalk and the concrete stairs began separating and falling apart. Wanting to solve the issue before it worsens, the homeowner wanted a professional to inspect the sidewalk. The homeowner looked through all their different options and came across our website. After seeing we offer FREE estimates and the services they need, the homeowner decided to call our Appointment Center and sign up for their estimate. After the details were finalized, we sent out one of our Design Specialists to inspect the sidewalk. After their detailed inspection, the Design Specialist determined that the concrete was sinking. The Design Specialist recommended that the sidewalk be lifted and leveled and that several cracks be filled. The homeowners agreed and production preparations began. Our Foreman, Sam, and his crew arrived at the home to begin the lifting and leveling process. First, the crew installed the PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution, underneath the affected concrete. Once the PolyLevel was properly inserted, the crew focused on filling the cracks and joints. To fill these several cracks and joints, the crew utilized the NexusPro Solution, a silicone-based solution. After all the cracks and joints were filled, the crew completed the job and left the home. The homeowners were appreciative of the job well done by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to help another customer.

Jamie and Mary D. of Northfield, MN had water leaking into their basement, making them feel nervous about living in their home. They heard from their neighbor about American Waterworks so they called our office staff and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Jared Bruns. Jared went to her home, carefully examined the basement, and came up with a solution and design that they could understand. Jamie and Mary were both very comfortable with the proposal, so they went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Dylon VanCanneyt, and his production team began the project by cutting out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a trench. In the trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard System which is made to prevent water clogs, serve as an underground drain, and collect water leakage from basement walls. Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter, which is made to prevent mold and humidity, cover any holes or divots, and serve as an extra wall protectant. Lastly, our team installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which provides three layers of protection and solves all three water problems in one system. To complete the project, Dylon and his crew covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Jamie was very happy with the project and had a remarkable experience from beginning to end!
A homeowner from Northfield, MN got in contact with us when they suspected their home was infested with Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas that occurs as the soil around the foundation of your home breaks down. Our customers knew that Radon has become the second-leading cause of lung cancer, second only to cigarette smoke. He knew that if the issue was left unresolved, he could run the risk of severely compromising his and his family's health. When he called in, we set him up with our FREE estimate, and our Design Specialist, Jarrett headed out to the house to test the levels. Jarrett completed a charcoal test, which consists of leaving a small kit behind in the home for 48-72 hours, after which the levels of Radon can be gauged. Once the test came back, the Radon levels in the home showed to be over 9 pCi/L. We recommend taking action with levels at 4 pCi/L or above, as 1 pCi/L of Radon is equivalent to smoking 2.5 cigarettes a day. Jarrett recommended that our customer strongly consider having a Radon Mitigation system installed. He explained that this system works to pull Radon from the home, pipe it upwards through an installed vent, and expel it outward and away from the home. Our customer agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Dakota, and his team installed the system quickly and efficiently, and now our customer is happy to know that he no longer has to worry about Radon harming him or his family.
