Stair-step Foundation Crack Repaired in Adrian, MN

A homeowner in Adrian, MN, knew it was time to have the stair-step cracks in their foundation repaired. Knowing they needed a professional to come to their home and take a look, the homeowners began looking for the best options near them. Recently there has been some flooding in the area, the homeowners asked friends in nearby towns if they had any suggestions. Several of their friends recommended working with us, American Waterworks. Trusting their friends' opinions, the homeowner decided to go to our website and sign up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Ryan. Ryan arrived at the home and began investigating the status of the basement. Following his thorough investigation, Ryan confirmed that the basement's foundation was struggling and required permanent stabilization. Ryan presented his plan to the homeowner and they agreed with his suggestions. After the homeowner approved it, they passed the plans on to the office for finalization. The office built the project and assigned it to our Foreman, Chris. After Chris received the plans, he and his crew traveled to the home to begin the project. Once they arrived, the crew began by installing 19 GeoLock anchors around the perimeter of the basement. Once the GeoLocks were properly installed, the crew dug and placed the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Additionally, Chris and his crew installed a new sump pump, the SuperSump+, in the corner of the basement. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful to know their basement was permanently stabilized and properly waterproofed. American Waterworks is happy to provide their homeowners peace of mind in their homes.

Radon Gas Mitigated from Adrian, MN, Home

A homeowner from Adrian, MN, was at his local home improvement store one day when he noticed an at-home radon gas testing kit. He didn't know much about the dangers of radon gas but knew that if levels in his home were high, he might need to take action. After conducting a test himself, he was floored when the results came back at 23 pCi/L. Panicked, he decided to find Minnesota radon specialists who could help. After finding our website, he was impressed with our radon mitigation pictures from other projects in his area and decided to sign up for his FREE estimate.

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Tony B, was headed out to the home. When Tony arrived, he got right to work inspecting the home. When he finished, he met with the homeowner. He first commended him for calling in an expert, as radon gas is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, making it impossible to detect without proper testing. He went on to say that, the Environmental Protection Agency recommends taking action for any levels higher than 4 pCi/L, and that because of the elevated levels in the home, he was recommending a radon mitigation system be installed. Tony explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He finished by saying that, when installed by a licensed professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in the interior air to minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health agencies. The homeowner liked Tony's plan and scheduled the work for several weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dakota, and his team were able to seamlessly place the system within the home, successfully restoring the homeowner's faith in the air circulating his home!

Deteriorating Walls in Spiritwood, ND

A homeowner in Spiritwood, ND, was searching for a foundation repair company to restore a deteriorating wall in their basement. After seeing American Waterworks' wonderful foundation restoration work, the homeowner went to our website and signed up for our FREE estimate. Once their appointment was made, we sent our Design Specialist, Richie, to the home to inspect the state of deterioration. Following his detailed inspection, Richie determined that the wall was near failure, putting the home structure at risk. Richie suggested the homeowner repair that wall and install piers to further support the foundation. After understanding the high risks, the homeowners agreed to Richie's suggestions and the restoration began. Our Foreman and his crew began the foundation restoration by installing three Helical Piers under the footing wall to support the foundation. Once the Helical Piers were properly secured, the crew shifted their focus to the decaying wall. The crew began by installing the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to support the foundation wall. After the wall was properly supported, the crew applied multiple layers of Shotlock onto the affected wall. The crew then smoothed and finished the surface to leave a flawless wall. The homeowners were relieved that their home was safe and secure. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
