A homeowner in St. Paul, MN, noticed their cinder block foundation was beginning to struggle. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner decided that they needed a professional to inspect the status of their basement. Overwhelmed by all their options, the homeowner tried to sift their options using NextDoor. One of the first companies to show up was ours, American Waterworks. The homeowner was impressed with our reviews and decided to take a closer look at our website. Knowing our services best fit their needs, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of Daniel, one of our Design Specialists. Daniel arrived at the home and began his inspection of the foundation. After completing the estimation, Daniel found that the home was suffering from hydrostatic pressure. To stop the foundation from being affected further, Daniel recommended that PowerBraces be installed on the affected walls. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed and production began. Our Foreman, Lane, and his crew arrived at the home to start production. First, the crew prepared for the PowerBrace installation. The crew installed six PowerBraces along the north wall in the basement. Once the PowerBraces were installed, they left behind a straightening kit. This will allow the walls to straighten over time. The crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was relieved to know their walls were permanently stabilized. American Waterworks is happy to help out another customer.
A homeowner from Saint Paul, MN, was in the process of upgrading his outdoor patio. One obstacle in the way of the revamp was the patio itself. The concrete patio had been slowly sinking for a few years now, and the homeowner was ready to update the space, meaning the concrete would need work. During his search for a company that could help, he found the American Waterworks website. He decided to take advantage of our FREE estimates, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist headed out to the home.
After our Design Specialist finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to give him our recommendations. Our Design Specialist explained that we could lift the sunken patio using our PolyLevel method. Our PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands when it's injected beneath concrete slabs, filling voids left by soil erosion and slowly lifting the concrete back into place. He went on to say that we finished our concrete lifts by installing our NexusPro. A silicone-based sealant, NexusPro works to keep unwanted debris and moisture away from the slab. The homeowner agreed with the recommendations and the work was scheduled to be completed a few weeks later.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Sam K, and his team made quick work of the lift. Now our customer can enjoy their outdoor oasis without worrying about sunken concrete!

In Apple Valley, MN, a homeowner had noticed that her home was taking a long time to heat up and decided to look into the reasons why. She learned that one of the possible reasons is a moisture issue in the crawl space. She decided to look for crawl space encapsulation services in the area and came upon our website. She was pleased that we offer FREE estimates and decided to claim hers!
Our Design Specialist, Dustin L., arrived at the home on the scheduled date and inspected the crawl space. He explained to the homeowner that her crawl space is in pretty rough shape, and this could be the reason why it takes a long time for her home to heat up. He recommended having it encapsulated by installing our Drainage Matting, Terrablock, Foamax, CleanSpace, and Spray Foam. These products would be used to fully encapsulate the crawl space, reducing its moisture levels and eventually saving the customer up to 20% off their energy bills. The homeowner happily agreed to his suggestions and decided to move forward with his design.
In a couple of months, our Foreman, Francisco E., and his crew arrived at the home for the installations. They first installed 210 sqft of Drainage Matting on the floor, ensuring that water does not get trapped. 210 sqft of Terrablock is then placed on top, which prevents moisture from going up through the dirt. Then, 88 sqft of Foamax is placed on the walls of the crawl space, which will solve the humidity and dampness problems. Foamax is our polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. This will make the crawl space much warmer and brighten it. Then, 272 sqft of CleanSpace is placed over the flooring and the walls, which will take any water seepage from your walls and direct it to the drainage system. Lastly, the crew installed 44 sqft of Spray Foam to seal it off. Once the crew finished the installations, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Kyle P., arrived at the home and inspected the walkway. Kyle also noticed that the homeowner's driveway apron was uneven, so he told the homeowner that both issues could be fixed using our PolyLevel to lift the concrete and NexusPro to seal the joints. He also explained to the homeowner that one of the common causes of a sinking concrete is soil washout. When it heavily rains or floods, the water moves through the ground beneath the concrete slabs. The water then washes out the supporting soils, eventually leading to gaps underneath the slab. The homeowner was grateful for Kyle's explanation and decided to move forward with the project. Kyle's design was then sent to our Foreman, Ryan T.
In about a week, Ryan and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began by drilling small holes into the concrete slabs. Injection ports are then installed, and PolyLevel is injected beneath the concrete slab. Once the slab has been lifted, the crew makes sure that it is level before sealing the holes with concrete. Lastly, the crew seals the joints with our long-lasting, high-durability NexusPro. After everything was completed, the crew cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
