A homeowner in Wahpeton, ND, recently watched a documentary on the dangers of radon. Worried their home has high radon levels, the homeowner began searching for "radon testing and mitigation near me". At the top of the search results stood us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner took a closer look at our radon mitigation services. After taking a closer look, the homeowner knew our company was the best choice for their project. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate details were finalized, we sent one of our Design Specialists, James, to the home to test the levels. A few days later, James traveled to the home to begin the test. Once James arrived, he introduced himself to the homeowner and then began the radon test. While the test was being completed, James completed a full inspection of the home. During the inspection, James found the best placement for the Radon Mitigation System. After the test was completed, it showed that the levels were above the recommended level of 4 pCi/L. To lower these levels, James recommended installing our Radon Mitigation System outside the home. Knowing this was their best plan of action, the homeowner decided to go ahead with James' proposal. After the proposal details were finalized by our Logistics team, the project was assigned to our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson. A few weeks later, Jackson arrived at the home and began the Radon Mitigation System installation. Radon mitigation is also referred to as "radon abatement" and "radon reduction". Our radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in the interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA. After Jackson installed the system, he cleaned up his materials and left the home. The homeowner was relieved to know their radon risk was eliminated. American Waterworks is happy to provide their homeowners peace of mind knowing their radon levels are at a safe level.

Jessica C. of Bingham Lake, MN had water leaking from her basement walls and wanted repairs to provide a wet-free and energy-efficient atmosphere in her basement. She called American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Eric Hazelton. Eric went to her home to inspect her problems and come up with a permanent solution. Jessica got all of her questions answered, so she followed through with the project.
Our Foreman, Raul Barroso, and his production team began the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed 65 feet of our WaterGuard System, which acts as an underground drain, collects water seepage from basement walls, and directs water to the floor drain. Next, our team installed 34 feet of our Basement to Beautiful Wall Panels around part of the wall perimeter. These wall panels act as an extra 2.5-inch wall protectant for all basements and prevent mold growth. To finish the installation, Raul and his team covered the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete. Jessica was very grateful we were able to help her, and her home repair needs!

Our Foreman and his crew started the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain, which prevents water clogs, collects water seepage from basement walls, and serves as an underground drain. Next, our crew installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which triples the protection, solves all three water problems in one system, and comes with a battery backup in case of power failure. To finish the project, our crew covered the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete over them, ensuring the basement was neater and cleaner than when they found it.

A customer from Montevideo, MN got in touch with us when a crack began forming on his block basement wall. He feared that if he left the issue unresolved, he would risk severely compromising the home's structural integrity. When he called in, we set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a free, no-obligation inspection by one of our System Design Specialists. Once the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Eric H. headed out to the property to assess the situation. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was able to make a recommendation as to how we could help correct the issue. Because the wall was beginning to bow inward, Eric wanted to use our GeoLock Wall Anchors to address the problem. He explained that this innovative wall anchor system would permanently stabilize the foundation of the home by anchoring the wall to the virgin soil beyond the foundation. He went on to say that after the initial installation, the anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten the foundation wall and pull them back into its original position. Our customer agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Chris, and his crew ended up strategically installing 5 GeoLock anchors along the problem wall. Once the job was completed, our customer was happy to know that his foundation worries were in the past!
