Tim W. of Cresco, IA had a radon level of 10, so he tested it again, but this time it was at 18. He became nervous and didn't enjoy living somewhere with that type of air quality. He found American Waterworks on his local television, so he called the office line and scheduled a time for our Design Specialist, Michel, to go to his home and figure out where to install our Radon Mitigation System. Michel proposed installing it in the attic. Tim was confident in the proposal and got all of his questions answered, so he went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Geno, and his crew started the installation by drilling a hole in the concrete floor in the basement, forming a suction point. From there, our team installed and connected PVC pipes until they got to the attic, where they installed the system. The purpose of our mitigation system is to pull radon from beneath the ground and lead it out of the home. If the mitigation system isn't working, then no radon can escape the home. Bill and Linda W. in Nelson, WI contacted American Waterworks after seeing one of our advertisements in the newspaper. Their driveway and walkway along their house had settled, creating a trip hazard. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Michel Ramirez, to meet with Bill and Linda, evaluate the situation, and propose a unique solution. Bill was glad to learn that our PolyLevel concrete repair solution is a durable, faster and more affordable option than traditional concrete repair. They approved of the plan and moved forward with the project.
Our Foreman, Brandon Wiskow, lifted several of the walkway and driveway sections through use of PolyLevel - a two-part, high-density polyurethane foam. Pencil-sized holes were drilled through the concrete, and foam was injected to lift the sinking slabs back to their original height. Then, he caulked and sealed the cracks with our NexusPro sealant to protect the concrete and give it a nice, finished look. Trip hazards were effectively removed, and the process avoided the unnecessary action of replacing the concrete. Bill and Linda were impressed with the installation, and thrilled that they can enjoy a level walkway for years to come!
