Sunken Walkway Lifted in Mankato, MN

A homeowner in Mankato, MN, was concerned for her sunken walkway as it was a tripping hazard for her and her family. Our Design Specialist, Romeo V., arrived at the home on the scheduled date to assess the walkway. He explained to the homeowner that one of the common reasons for uneven concrete is soil washout. When it rains or floods, the water moves through the ground and washes the supporting soils away. Over time, this causes holes and gaps beneath the concrete slab. In about a month, our Foreman, Patrick B., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. The crew began lifting the concrete by first drilling small holes into the slab. Injection ports are then installed, and PolyLevel is injected beneath the slab. Once it has been lifted, the crew ensures that it is level before sealing the holes with concrete. Lastly, the crew uses NexusPro, our high-durability silicone-based sealant, on the joints and to repair cracks. After the crew was done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
