In Fargo, ND, a homeowner had recently learned about radon. It is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that comes from the breakdown of soil beneath the home. When inhaled over a long-period of time, it increases the risk for lung cancer. Concerned their family was unknowingly breathing in the toxic gas, they decided to purchase a radon testing kit. After a couple of days, the test results exceeded 4 pCi/L, the EPA's recommended action level for radon. The homeowner then took action and contacted us to schedule their FREE radon mitigation inspection.
In less than a week, our Design Specialist, James N., arrived at the home for the inspection. During the inspection, he took a close look at the layout of the home and worked closely with the homeowner on the best placement of our radon mitigation system. James recommended having the fan installed at the exterior of the home and having it connect to the sump pump in the basement. This is designed this way so that our fan can suction out the radon air and expel it above the roofline before it can enter the home. Happy with the solution, the homeowner decided to move forward with the project.
In about a month, our Foreman, Jackson P., arrived at the home for the installation. After the radon mitigation system was successfully installed, the crew cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
