Wet Basement and Cracked Foundation in Rockford, IA

Homeowners in Rockford, IA discovered that the walls in their basement had started bowing and they had water seeping in through the cracks in their walls. They were concerned that the damage to the foundation would get much worse if they left the problem unattended.

They decided to research foundation repair and waterproofing contractors. They found American Waterworks' website and were pleased to see that we offer both services. They wanted to learn more about our solutions, so they set up a time for a Design Specialist to come onsite to do a FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist discovered that the homeowners would benefit from a full waterproofing system and wall anchors to straighten the wall and stabilize the foundation.

The homeowners decided that these permanent solutions were the right fit for them, so they scheduled an installation with our appointment center. Our crew installed a full perimeter of the WaterGuard drainage system and a TripleSafe sump pump. They also installed 24 wall anchors throughout the perimeter of the basement. Once the anchors were tightened, the homeowners could already see a dramatic improvement with the stability of the walls. Cracked Foundation Wall Stabilized in Floyd, IA

Stan G. in Floyd, IA had a large crack in his basement wall. The wall had started to bow inward, and the crack had grown over time. A friend recommended that he reach out to American Waterworks to receive a free estimate. Stan contacted us, and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, to his home to inspect his foundation and design a solution. Pete recommended that we install wall anchors along the cracked wall to permanently stabilize the foundation. Stan was pleased with the proposal that Pete presented to him, so he decided to move forward with the installation.

Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his crew started the installation process by drilling small holes into the brick wall and into the soil. Then, they inserted long metal rods and secured them by placing anchors on each end of the rod. The project only took one day to complete, and now Stan’s wall is permanently secured. Our wall anchors are backed with a lifetime warranty, so Stan is confident that he chose the right solution to protect his home for the long-term.

Leak in Floyd, IA Basement

Richard in Floyd, IA had water leaking into his basement. He started searching for waterproofing contractors and he found the American Waterworks website. He was glad to see that we are waterproofing experts, so he contacted us for a FREE estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Mike Radosevich, went to his home to inspect his basement and design a solution. Mike developed a waterproofing plan that best fit Richard’s needs, so Richard scheduled the installation.

Our production team started the installation process by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor. They laid a partial perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system around the basement floor. Then, they installed our SuperSump sump pump and filled the void around the sump pump and WaterGuard with rock. Lastly, they replaced the concrete over the WaterGuard and around the sump pump. The drainage system now properly drains water to the sump pump, and from there the water is pushed through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Richard can rest easy knowing that water will no longer be in his basement. He is glad he chose to invest in protecting his home for years to come.

Water Seeping Through Basement Floor in Rudd, IA

Bill B. in Rudd, IA noticed that his basement was taking on water during heavy rains. Bill had tried numerous quick fixes, but nothing he tried was a permanent solution. He decided to call the waterproofing experts at American Waterworks to receive a free estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Mac Cole, to his home to inspect his basement and provide him with the best long-term solution. Bill enjoyed working with Mac and was impressed with his thorough plan, so he scheduled the installation of our waterproofing system.

Our production crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system. They removed a section of the concrete floor around the perimeter and created a drainage trench. The WaterGuard is then placed within the trench and filled back with rock to fill the gaps. This keeps the drainage system out of the “mud zone”, where drains can clog. Then, they installed a SuperSump sump pump system which is engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods of time, even in times of heavy water intrusion. The water now properly flows through the drainage system and is then discharged from the home through the sump pump. Bill is now enjoying a dry, healthier basement. He is glad he chose American Waterworks to restore his home and his peace of mind!

Waterproofing Products Installed in Nora Springs, IA

A homeowner in Nora Springs, IA went down to her basement to get something from storage and found something unexpected. A small puddle of water had formed at the base of some of the walls and had already caused some damage. She was concerned about what this meant for the state of her basement but didn't know how to move forward with the process by herself. She contacted American Waterworks and signed up for a FREE no-obligation estimate to learn more. We sent over Design Specialist Brady Swenson to discuss things over with her and inspect the basement area himself. Brady discovered the water damage and knew just the solution to stop it for good and prevent any more problems for the homeowner. The homeowner was pleased to hear this and scheduled a date for the installations. Foreman Raul Barroso and his crew went to the site, ready to install some waterproofing products for the basement. The crew started the project out by jackhammering channels along the perimeter of the basement. They filled them with drainage stone, followed by the WaterGuard system and more clean stone. WaterGuard is specifically engineered to intercept water at the perimeter of the basement and send it safely away. They also replaced the old sump pump with a new SuperSump Plus to more effectively keep up with the water coming in. A feed line was attached from the drain system to push the water to the new pump and go up and out of the home. Once everything was in place and properly working, they poured new concrete to over the new drain system and around the pump for protection. The homeowner was impressed with the work and happy she had used our services.

A homeowner in Charles City, IA was frustrated with her basement space. The crew also replaced the old sump pump with a new SuperSump pump. A feed line was then attached from the WaterGuard system to the SuperSump pump for the water to safely move from. The crew also fastened CleanSpace wall vapor barrier to the wall, which both brightened the space and added protection to the room from the leaky wall.
