For a few months, a Viroqua, MN, homeowner had noticed a strange odor wafting through his home. Try as he might, he could not locate the source of the odor. One night it occurred to the homeowner that the odor might be coming from the crawl space beneath his home. Worried that it might be a deceased pest, he quickly began looking into crawl space repairs near Viroqua, WI. When he found our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Ross J, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home. When Ross arrived, he wasted no time getting down into the crawl space to see what the issue was. When he was finished, he met with the homeowner and informed him that there were no dead pests he needed to worry about. Rather, a different kind of nightmare, his crawl space was taking on unwanted water, leading to the formation of mildew and an unpleasant odor. Ross went on to say that he believed we could fix the issue and the leaky crawl space with the help of several of our products. Ross began by recommending our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp-like material that gets installed directly onto unfinished walls. It works to catch water entering through small holes and cracks in the wall, directing it downward and into our drainage matting, dimpled matting that provides a channel for water to flow to a disposal site, keeping it off the floor and properly draining the crawl space of water. Finally, Ross recommended our SmartDrain, a useful device that alerts homeowners to a leak with an audible alarm, and drains the water away to a drywell under the CleanSpace liner to protect against property damange. The homeowner was thrilled with Ross's plan and scheduled the job on the spot.

When the project day rolled around, our Foreman, Raul B, and his team successfully installed 475 sqft of CleanSpace and 352 sqft of Drainage Matting. When the job was completed, our customer was thrilled to know he could put his damp crawl space worries behind him!

Cy S. in Viroqua, WI contacted American Waterworks because he had water in his basement and his new addition. He met with one of our Design Specialists, who proposed that the best solution was to install a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system and a SuperSump sump pump.

Our Foreman, Arturo Mares, and his crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system. They removed a section of the concrete floor around the perimeter and created a drainage trench. The WaterGuard is then placed within the trench and filled back with rock to fill the gaps. They also installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls to protect the room from moisture and potential mold growth. The encapsulation system will now guide water leaking in through the foundation walls and redirect it to their WaterGuard perimeter floor drainage system and ultimately drain into the SuperSump sump pump. Cy is pleased that his basement is now a dry, healthier space and he is glad he chose to invest in the long-term protection of his home.

Viroqua, WI, Sinking Concrete Repaired

A homeowner in Viroqua, WI, was worried that their walkway and sidewalk were becoming a tripping hazard. Concerned someone could get seriously injured, the homeowner knew they needed to fix the issue. After looking into "sinking concrete repair near me", one of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. Once they saw our before-and-afters, the homeowner knew that we were the ideal company for their project. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Ross, to the home to take a closer look. Ross promptly arrived and began his detailed inspection. During the inspection, Ross noted that the uneven slabs were caused by settlement. To prevent the settlement from continuing, Ross recommended installing PolyLevel below the sinking slabs. Knowing this was the best plan of action, the homeowner agreed and worked with Ross to find the best installation date. When the installation date arrived, our Foreman, Jordan, and his crew promptly arrived at the home. Jordan and his crew started by inserting PolyLevel below the sinking sidewalk. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to filling the cracks and replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. After all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew, so they left a five-star review. A homeowner in De Soto, WI, found their basement had serious water damage. After the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Ryan. A week later, Ryan traveled to the home and began the thorough inspection of the basement. During his inspection, Ryan found several areas where water was sneaking into their home. Once he found all the problem areas, Ryan was able to provide the homeowners with a solution that would repair their damaged basement. Once the homeowner heard Ryan's recommendations, they knew it was their best plan. Once the plans were approved by the homeowner, Ryan passed the proposal to our Logistics team to build and schedule the final project. Once the details were settled, our Logistics team assigned the project to our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew. A few days later, Kiko and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Kiko and his crew started by installing WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the TripleSafe sump pump. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the TripleSafe to the new WaterGuard. Finally, the crew wrapped up by installing CleanSpace on the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching it to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Once all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew. Struggling Foundation Saved in Viroqua, WI

A homeowner in Viroqua, WI, knew they desperately needed a professional to inspect their foundation. While thinking of companies, the homeowner remembered seeing one of our vehicles in the area. The homeowner went to our website and saw that we offer a large variety of services. Impressed by our services, the homeowner was convinced enough to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate appointment was set, Chuck, one of our Design Specialists, traveled to the home to begin the estimation. Once Chuck completed the estimate, he found foundation was rapidly falling and needed to be stabilized. Chuck suggested stabilizing the struggling walls with GeoLock anchors, our innovative wall system, and PowerBraces, our wall repair system. After weighing all their options, the homeowner agreed with Chuck's plan. The plans were sent to our Foreman, Luis, and his crew, so they could start production preparations for this large job. When they arrived, the crew installed 20 GeoLock anchors on the north and south foundation walls. The crew installs the GeoLocks by digging a section of the ground to place the first GeoLock anchor. Once the GeoLock is in place, another anchor is attached to the interior wall. Both GeoLocks are connected by a small, steel pole direct through the ground. Then, the GeoLocks are secured, and the soil is put back on top of the ground. Once the GeoLocks were in place, the crew installed four PowerBraces on the east foundation wall. PowerBraces is a foundation wall repair system, designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten them over time. First, the crew begins by cutting the wall braces. Next, the PowerBraces are secured into the floor joist hardware and fine-tuned into the correct position. Then, the PowerBraces are attached to the floor with a special, bolt-in-place bracket. Once all the products were installed, the homeowner asked that the tightening kit be included for the PowerBraces and GeoLocks. This will allow the homeowner to straighten their walls over time. When the job was complete, the crew put the basement back together and left the home. The homeowners were beyond grateful for the excellent job completed by the crew.  If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
