Basement Wall Gets Stabilized in Fairmont, MN

A customer from Fairmont, MN got in contact with us when he noticed some suspicious cracks beginning to form on his wall. He was afraid that if he left the issue unresolved it could continue to worsen, severely compromising the structural integrity of the home. When he called in, we set him up with our FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist, Ryan, headed out to the property to assess the situation. Upon arrival, Ryan completed a thorough 3-hour inspection into the issue. When he completed his walkthrough, Ryan made his recommendation as to how we could best help the customer. He recommended the installation of our PowerBrace wall repair system. Ryan explained that these steel-I beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustments. This system has the option to be tightened over time to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical. The homeowner quickly agreed and work began shortly after.

Our Foreman, Luis, and his crew ended up installing 6 PowerBrace along the cracked wall in the basement. Once completed, our customer was relieved that he could rest easy knowing the structural integrity of the home is no longer a concern.

Frantic to stop further water from entering, the homeowner looked up the closest waterproofing company in the area. One of the top results was us, American Waterworks, and the homeowner searched to see if we could come to the home as soon as possible. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. As soon as we could, we sent one our of Design Specialists, Dylan, to perform the estimate. After Dylan completed the detailed estimate, he determined that the basement needed to be fully waterproofed. Not wanting this issue to become reoccurring, the homeowners agreed. The plans were sent to the assigned crew and job preparations began.  Our Foreman, Raul, and his crew arrived at the home to begin the project. First, the crew started by installing the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. After the WaterGuard was properly placed, the crew dug a line across the basement to insert the feedline. Then, the crew removed the old sump pump and replaced it with the SuperSump+. On the outside of the home, an IceGuard was attached to the outside discharge line. Finally, the crew installed CleanSpace on all the basement walls. The crew cleaned up any excess water and materials. The homeowners were beyond thankful to know their basement was fully waterproofed. American Waterworks is happy to make another homeowner's basement dry again.

Sump Pump Saves Basement in Fairmont, MN

A business owner from Fairmont, MN, was facing a serious issue with his basement. Whenever it rained, he could see water entering the space through holes in the wall, slowly running down the wall and leaving him with a headache. He was unsure of who to turn to for this issue, so he began to look for Fairmont, MN basement repairs. When he found our website, he found that he was impressed with other work we had done in our area, so he signed up for one of our FREE estimates. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ryan P, was headed out to the home.

When Ryan arrived, he got right to work assessing the space. Upon completion, he was ready to make his recommendations for the next steps. First, Ryan recommended our TrenchDrain system, explaining that the TrenchDrain resembles half of a basement drainage pipe, with a grated opening fitted snugly on top. The grate is flush or slightly below the floor, eliminating any tripping hazard. It is uniquely designed to span doorways, hatchway entrances, and similar entryway doors. Any water passing over the drain is collected through the openings and redirected to your sump pump. Ryan had noted that the space lacked a sump pump, so he recommended our SuperSump plus system, an economical, yet effective, choice for ridding a basement of unwanted water. The homeowner agreed and scheduled the job for some time later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Chris N, led his team through the successful installation of 1 SuperSump plus, and 12 ft of TrenchDrain. Now, our customer can rest easy knowing his basement is protected from unwanted water!

High Moisture Levels in Crawl Space Regulated in Fairmont, MN

A homeowner in Fairmont, MN, noticed that his home was taking longer than normal to heat the home and was unsure of the reason. He decided to look into it and learned that one of the issues that could be causing this is a poorly insulated crawl space. Realizing that his crawl space is not insulated, he contacted us to schedule his FREE crawl space estimate.

Our Design Specialist, Lance S., arrived at the home in a couple of weeks to assess the crawl space, answer any questions, and provide the best solution for the homeowner. During the inspection, Lance explained that one of the common causes of high moisture levels in a crawl space is dirt floors. Having a dirt floor in your crawl space means that your home is not separated from the earth, causing insects, pets, moisture, and mold to easily enter the home. For this reason, Lance recommended CleanSpace, our vapor wall barrier that prevents water from permeating through the floors and walls, Drainage Matting, which creates a drainage space and thermal break between the CleanSpace and ground, Foamax, our foam insulation panel that helps control crawl space humidity, and SmartDrain, a plumping system that alerts the homeowner if there is a leak. The homeowner happily agreed with Lance's suggestions, and his design was sent to our Foreman, Kiko P.

In a couple of months, Kiko and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed 884 sqft of CleanSpace, 768 sqft of Drainage Matting, 224 sqft of Foamax, and 1 SmartDrain. After they were done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Now, our customer has a properly insulated crawl space and can save up to 20% on their energy bills! Are you experiencing something similar? Schedule your FREE estimate today by clicking HERE!
