Once set, our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew began strategically placing PowerBraces around the basement, inserting 5 9' PowerBraces to stabilize the wall further. The PowerBrace system is an I-shaped beam that stabilizes and helps straighten the bow of the wall over time. The PowerBrace system is drilled into the home's support beams and the concrete on which the house lies. The team also inserted 6 GeoLock Wall Anchors to correct the issue. This innovative system stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation; the anchors can be tightened over time.

A homeowner in Kanawha, IA, was worried their foundation crack was going to cause serious issues to their home. Concerned this could cause structural damage to their home, the homeowner began looking into foundation repair near Kanawha, IA. The homeowner looked into "fix basements in Iowa" and one of the first companies to show up was us, American Waterworks. After taking a closer look at our services, the homeowner was impressed with our work. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Brady, to the home to begin the detailed inspection. Brady traveled to the home and began the thorough inspection of the basement. During his investigation, Brady determined the north wall was struggling the most and required stabilization. Brady was able to come up with a solution that would permanently stabilize the wall, so he presented his proposal to the homeowner. Once the homeowner heard the proposal, they knew it was the best option for their home. Brady sent the proposal to our office to receive the final stamp of approval. After our Logistics team approved the plans, they scheduled it with our Foreman, Chris, and his crew. As soon as they received the plans, Chris and his crew traveled to the home and began the installation. First, Chris and his crew installed 12 GeoLock Wall Anchors along the north wall. The crew secured the interior and exterior anchors to ensure the wall would stay stable. Once all the GeoLocks were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. Jeremy, from Halstad, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice that his basement wall was beginning to crack, showing clear signs of wall failure. Jeremy didn't want to risk compromising the structural integrity of the home more than it already was, so he decided to give us a call. When he called in, we set him up with our FREE estimate. A few weeks later our Design Specialist, Richie, headed out to the property to complete his inspection. Once he concluded, he recommended the use of our PowerBrace system, steel I-beams that will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustments. Richie informed Jeremy that our PowerBraces have the option to be tightened over time, giving them added effectiveness. Jeremy agreed with Richie's recommendations. Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Tremaine, ended up installing 6 of our PowerBraces throughout the space. Once the job was complete, Jeremy was happy to know he no longer needed to worry about his foundation issue. 

A homeowner from Halstad, MN, was worried about her crawl space. Over the years, her and her family's allergies had worsened, leading her to believe there were airborne allergens trapped in her home. She suspected the home's crawl space was to blame, so she began to look for crawl space repair near Halstad, MN, and quickly found American Waterworks. When he was finished, he met up with the homeowner to go over his findings and recommendations. 

Ian began by saying that the crawl space needed some serious attention, so he recommended several of our products to fix the moisture issue. First, Ian recommended our CleanSpace and drainage matting combo, explaining that the CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof tarp-like material that gets installed directly on the crawl space walls, functioning to collect any moisture entering through the foundation downward and keeping it out of the space. The drainage matting is laid down on the floor of the space before the CleanSpace is applied, giving the water collected by the CleanSpace a channel to flow freely to a drain or sump system. Next, Ian informed the homeowner that the water needed a means of escaping the space, which is where our SuperSump Plus would come into play. This effective yet economical sump pump is engineered for your peace of mind, making it the perfect choice to rid the crawl space of unwanted water. Next, Ian stated that he believed the crawl space to be energy inefficient, meaning that the space was making it harder to regulate the temperature in the home, as both cold and hot air were finding their way in and out of the crawl space due to tiny cracks and holes. Ian wanted to fix this problem with our Foamax Wall Panels. Foamax is a polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. The wall insulation panel offers several benefits, such as high insulation value, creating a warmer space, and brightening the basement, and can be left exposed, meaning the basement or crawl space can remain unfinished. Lastly, Ian informed the homeowner that even spaces with the most comprehensive waterproofing systems can still develop moisture and mold problems and can even feel damp. This is due to concrete walls and floors constantly absorbing moisture from the soil, releasing it into the air of the basement. Ian's final recommendation is that our AprilAire dehumidifier creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses in the air to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% relative humidity. The homeowner was thankful that Ian was forthcoming about all of the issues in the space and decided to address them all.
