Tharese W. of Saint Joseph, MN had a bowing foundation wall and damp floors throughout her entire garage. She called American Waterworks to schedule a FREE Estimate to get it thoroughly diagnosed and inspected. Jared Bruns, one of our Design Specialists, went to Tharese's home, thoroughly examined the foundation wall and garage leaks, and proposed a couple of solutions that would work for her and her budget. Tharese narrowed the solutions down and chose the one that best suited her and her home repair needs. She signed Jared's proposal, wrote out a deposit check, and scheduled a date for the installation. 

Our Foreman, Matt Zeller, and his production team started the project by introducing themselves to Tharese and ensuring all of her questions were answered. After a thorough introduction, our team got to work and broke out the concrete floor perimeter of the garage, forming a waterway trench. Our team installed 110 feet of our WaterGuard Drainage System in the trench, which is made to transport water easier, prevent mud clogs, collect leakage from basement walls, and serve as an underground drain that eventually leads to outside of the home. Next, our team installed 105 feet of our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the entire wall perimeter. Our CleanSpace is made to prevent mold and humidity, give the space a neat and clean appearance, and provide the basement with extra protection. Lastly, our team installed six of our foundation repair wall anchors from the outside the foundation to inside the foundation, which stabilizes the foundation wall by anchoring the walls to the soil. Each anchor is connected by a steel rod to a wall plate that provides pressure against the inside of the wall. To complete the installation, our crew backfilled the soil from the anchor installation, and covered the open waterproofing gaps with pea gravel, followed by a new application of concrete. The job site looked much cleaner than when they found it, and Tharese was thrilled with the completion of the project!

Dan and Nancy M. of Plymouth, IA had a bowing retaining timber wall, causing them to worry about the value of their home and property. Our Foreman and his crew began the installation by putting block wood over the cracked foundation and inserting five long, metal rods into the wall and tightening and screwing a wall anchor to each rod. This system stabilizes the foundation wall by anchoring the wall to the hard-packed soil beyond the foundation. After the installation, the wall anchors can be tightened over time to further straighten the wall and pull it back to its original position.

A homeowner in Plymouth, IA, noticed water leaking into his basement and was concerned it would lead to long-term damage to his home. Unsure of the cause of the issue, he began looking for basement waterproofing contractors in the area and found us. The homeowner then contacted our Appointment Center to schedule his FREE basement waterproofing estimate.

In about a week, our Design Specialist, Ryan M., arrived at the home for the inspection. During the inspection, Ryan noticed that the puddles of water were around the perimeter of the basement. He explained to the homeowner that a failed footing drain could be the issue why the homeowner is facing a leaking basement. When a footing drain fails and becomes clogged, water saturates the soil surrounding the foundation and enters through the footing and the wall, beneath the footing, or cracks on the walls. To effectively fix this issue, Ryan recommended WaterGuard, our perimeter grain system that collects water and sends it to the sump pump, TripleSafe, our elite sump pump system that comes with 3 pumps in one unit, IceGuard, our anti-freeze discharge line that allows water to escape in case the sump pump pipes freeze, and CleanSpace, our vapor wall barrier that prevents water from permeating the walls. After looking over Ryan's proposal, the homeowner happily agreed to his recommendations and decided to move forward with the project. 

In about a month, our Foreman, Kiko P., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. The crew installed 144ft of WaterGuard and CleanSpace, 1 TripleSafe, and 2 IceGuard. Once they were done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Our production team installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system, a lateral line, and a TripleSafe sump pump. The drainage system and lateral line properly guide water to the sump pump, and from there the water is pushed through the discharge line and expelled from the home.
