Failing Wall Straightened in Wayzata, MN

A customer from Wayzata, MN got in contact with us when she began to notice the retaining wall in front of her garage was beginning to tilt inwards. Our customer feared that if she left the problem unresolved she risked the possibility of the wall failing completely and costing more to fix. When she contacted us we set her up with our FREE estimate, entitling her to a thorough inspection by a member of our Design Specialists team. Once the appointment was set, our Design Specialist, Shane, headed out to her home to inspect the issue. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was ready to make his professional opinion about correcting the issue. He told our customer that her best bet to battle the failing wall would be allowing us to install our GeoLock anchors. He explained to her that our GeoLock anchors are the ideal solution for stabilizing and straightening as it anchors the problem wall to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation. He went on to explain that, after the installation, the anchors can often be tightened over time to further address the failing foundation walls and pull them back into place. Our customer gave the green light and work began shortly after. Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Hugo, installed three of our GeoLock anchors throughout the problem wall. Once the job was complete, our customer was happy to know that her failing wall issues were a thing of the past!

High Levels of Radon Mitigated in Champlin, MN

Jeffrey H. in Champlin, MN discovered the adverse effects that radon gas has on people's health and he became concerned because his home had not yet been tested. He started looking for a company to test his home, and he came across American Waterworks’ website. He was glad to see that along with concrete repair, basement waterproofing and foundation repair, we also offer radon testing and mitigation. He gave us a call and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to his home to set up the test. The results showed that Jeffrey did in fact have unsafe levels of radon in his home. Jeremy explained the risks of not having a radon mitigation system installed and he walked Jeffrey through the installation process. Jeffrey wanted to have the system installed as soon as possible, so they scheduled the project.

Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete under the stairs in the basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The post mitigation test results showed that his home was now a much safer environment. The installation took only one day to complete, and Jeffrey is glad he took action to protect his and his family’s health.
