Uneven Concrete Lifted in La Crosse, WI

A bank owner in La Crosse, WI, noticed some sinking along the walkway in front of the building. Knowing the importance of curb appeal, the owner began looking into concrete lifting services in La Crosse, WI, and found us. The owner then contacted us to schedule his FREE estimate.

In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Will R., arrived at the bank to conduct a thorough inspection. During the inspection, he noticed multiple areas had been uneven, causing a few bumps to form. To fix this, Will recommended installing PolyLevel, our elite solution that accurately lifts sunken slabs. PolyLevel is made of a waterproof foam solution that is meant to expand once injected beneath slabs. It is a quick and effective way of lifting concrete slabs without the trouble of mudjacking or slab replacement. The owner happily agreed to Will's recommendation and scheduled the installation date with our Foreman.

In about a month, our Foreman, Sam K., and his crew arrived at the bank for the installation. The crew began by drilling small holes into the concrete slabs. Then, PolyLevel is injected beneath the slab, compacting the soil and lifting the slab. Once the slab has been lifted to the desired height, the crew seals the holes. After they were done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Now, our customer can have a smooth walkway! Noticed sinking concrete on your property? Click HERE and schedule your FREE concrete estimate today!

Radon Gas Levels Controlled in Onalaska, WI

A homeowner in Onalaska, WI, came upon our blog post discussing the dangerous health risks of radon and was worried that his family was unknowingly breathing in the toxic fumes. He learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, a naturally occurring radioactive element that breaks down in soil. Over time, as the soil decays, it breaks down into radium and eventually turns into radon gas. Radon gas is extremely hazardous, as it is the second-leading cause of lung cancer. Soon after learning this information, he decided to sign up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Will R., headed out to the home.

When Will arrived, he tested for radon by placing a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. The test works to gauge and record radon levels in the home in 48 hours. Will also informed the homeowner that he would consider adding a Radon Mitigation system to the home if the test results are above 4pCi/L, which is the Environmental Protection Agency's required action level. He also explained that if the test results were not at a dangerous level, it was always good to have your home regularly tested for radon gas. Unfortunately, we cannot smell, taste, see, touch, or hear radon, which makes it extremely important to test for radon gas levels every 2 years. After a few weeks, the test results came back above 4 pCi/L, and the homeowner contacted Will and scheduled the installation.

In about a month, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew traveled to the home for the installation. Our radon mitigation system is a large plastic pipe with an in-line fan that sucks radon-rich air beneath your foundation and spews it outdoors. After the installation, our customer was pleased to have clean air!

Full Perimeter WaterGuard Installed in Onalaska, WI

Elinor in Onalaska, WI had water leaking into her basement. She was concerned about the damage that the water was causing and interested in our French drain products, so she called us for a free estimate. One of our Design Specialists went to her home to inspect her basement and design a solution. We recommended that she have our full perimeter WaterGuard system installed to ensure that her basement would be permanently waterproofed. Elinor liked the proposal that we presented to her, so she scheduled the installation.

Our production team started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement. Then, they laid the WaterGuard drainage system and connected it to her existing sump pump. The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump, and from there the water is expelled from the home. Now Elinor wil be able to enjoy a dry basement for many years to come. She is glad she chose to invest in the protection of her home.

Crawl Space Transformation in Onalaska, WI

Tim W. in Onalaska, WI contacted American Waterworks because he was interested in insulating and encapsulating his crawl space. He knew the space was inefficient and that he could be saving money on his energy bill. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Dustin Loftus, who met with Tim, evaluated the situation, and proposed a permanent solution.

Our Foreman, Cory Sather, and his production crew installed drainage matting, TerraBlock insulation, and our CleanSpace vapor barrier along the floor of the crawl space. Then, they installed our spray foam rim joist insulation and Foamax insulation panels along the walls. These products work together to keep moisture, pests, and potential mold growth out. They also help reduce Tim’s energy bill by making sure energy is not lost through that space. Tim was pleased with the results and happy his crawl space will remain a dry, healthier and more energy efficient space.
