La Crosse, WI, Leaky Basement Walls Repaired

A homeowner in La Crosse, WI, knew it was time to repair their water-damaged basement. Knowing they could not repair the issue themselves, the homeowner knew they needed to find an expert to provide them with a solution. The homeowner looked into "who to call for a basement leak", and hte first company to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. Impressed with our stellar ratings and reviews, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Ryan, to the home to begin the thorough inspection of the basement. During the inspection, Ryan confirmed that several areas were suffering from water damage. To prevent the issue from worsening, Ryan recommended securing several waterproofing products throughout the basement. The homeowner agreed and worked with Ryan to find the best installation date. When the installation date arrived, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Foreman, Kevin, and his crew. Kevin and his crew promptly arrived at the home and began by securing WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. Next, the crew shifted to attaching CleanSpace to the unfinished basement. Finally, the crew secured the Aprilaire in the basement. After all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their matierals and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to repair its customers' water-damaged basements.

Radon Gas Levels Controlled in Onalaska, WI

A homeowner in Onalaska, WI, came upon our blog post discussing the dangerous health risks of radon and was worried that his family was unknowingly breathing in the toxic fumes. He learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, a naturally occurring radioactive element that breaks down in soil. Over time, as the soil decays, it breaks down into radium and eventually turns into radon gas. Radon gas is extremely hazardous, as it is the second-leading cause of lung cancer. Soon after learning this information, he decided to sign up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Will R., headed out to the home.

When Will arrived, he tested for radon by placing a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. The test works to gauge and record radon levels in the home in 48 hours. Will also informed the homeowner that he would consider adding a Radon Mitigation system to the home if the test results are above 4pCi/L, which is the Environmental Protection Agency's required action level. He also explained that if the test results were not at a dangerous level, it was always good to have your home regularly tested for radon gas. Unfortunately, we cannot smell, taste, see, touch, or hear radon, which makes it extremely important to test for radon gas levels every 2 years. After a few weeks, the test results came back above 4 pCi/L, and the homeowner contacted Will and scheduled the installation.

In about a month, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew traveled to the home for the installation. Our radon mitigation system is a large plastic pipe with an in-line fan that sucks radon-rich air beneath your foundation and spews it outdoors. After the installation, our customer was pleased to have clean air!

Full Perimeter WaterGuard Installed in Onalaska, WI

Elinor in Onalaska, WI had water leaking into her basement. She was concerned about the damage that the water was causing and interested in our French drain products, so she called us for a free estimate. One of our Design Specialists went to her home to inspect her basement and design a solution. We recommended that she have our full perimeter WaterGuard system installed to ensure that her basement would be permanently waterproofed. Elinor liked the proposal that we presented to her, so she scheduled the installation.

Our production team started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement. Then, they laid the WaterGuard drainage system and connected it to her existing sump pump. The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump, and from there the water is expelled from the home. Now Elinor wil be able to enjoy a dry basement for many years to come. She is glad she chose to invest in the protection of her home.
