Lane has been working for American Waterworks since June of 2017. His day to day involves being out on the road installing radon mitigation systems into our customers' homes. He enjoys working here because he likes the people he works with and he values the skills he is learning. In his spare time, he likes to hang out with friends, go hunting, hiking and fishing.
It's a pleasure to have Lane on the team!
Tammy E. in Houston, MN had water seeping into her basement through cracks in the floor. She also noticed a foul smell and some rust-colored stains. She contacted American Waterworks, and we sent our Design Specialist, Mike Radosevich, to her home to evaluate her situation. He discovered that Tammy had a buildup of iron ochre in her old sump pump. He explained that it is not a known health hazard but can quickly clog a French drain system. He presented her with our WaterGuard IOS Perimeter Drain Channel, which is ideal for managing this problem. Tammy was impressed with Mike’s presentation and our products and moved forward with an installation date.
Our Foreman, Austin Lucas, and his production crew were able to permanently waterproof Tammy’s basement by installing 209 feet of our WaterGuard IOS System. The wide-open design of the drain helps it resist clogs, while a removable lid allows for easy access and maintenance. Then, the crew installed our recommended TripleSafe sump pump. The WaterGuard properly drains water to the sump pump and from there, the water is pumped through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Tammy was impressed with the installation, and is happy knowing that her problem is solved and her basement is dry!
Shonna L. in Rollingstone, MN had water seeping into her basement and her old sump pump was not able to keep up with the amount of water coming in. Her basement had become a damp, musty and unlivable space. She was tired of dealing with a wet basement, so she started to research waterproofing contactors in her area. She found the American Waterworks’ website and was impressed by our extensive waterproofing knowledge. She had us out to her home to look at her basement and provide her with a free estimate. After inspecting her basement, our Design Specialist, Dustin Loftus, was able to develop a thorough and unique plan to waterproof her basement. She was pleased with his proposal, so they set a date for our production crew to install the waterproofing system.
Our production team started the installation by removing the old sump pump and the concrete around the perimeter of her basement where the WaterGuard drainage system needed to be laid. They installed our TripleSafe sump pump, which is our most reliable sump pump. The WaterGuard properly guides the water leaking into her basement to the sump pump. Then, they replaced the concrete over the drainage system and around the sump pump. From there, the water is pumped through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Our waterproofing system is backed by a lifetime warranty, so Shonna can rest easy knowing her basement will always be protected. She is glad she chose to invest in the long-term protection of her home.

Pat N. in Dodge Center, MN has a large crawl space under her home. She noticed that the pipes had started freezing in the winter and that pests were getting in through that space. She saw that American Waterworks can waterproof and encapsulate crawl spaces on one of our commercials, so she decided to contact us and see how we could help her.
We sent one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, to her home to look at her crawl space and give her a FREE estimate. Pete was able to develop a solid plan to waterproof and encapsulate her crawl space, so she would not have to deal with these frustrations again. She was pleased with Pete's proposal, so an installation date was set.
Our production team installed a SmartDrain crawl space sump pump, SilverGlo, our TerraBlock vapor barrier, CleanSpace and an EverLast crawl space door. The combination of these crawl space repair products created a clean, dry and energy efficient space for Pat. She no longer has the frustration of dealing with critters getting into her home or freezing pipes in the winter. She also is enjoying savings on her energy bill. Pat is glad she made the investment to protect her home by repairing her crawl space.

Josh L. in Minneapolis, MN discovered the adverse effects that radon gas has on people's health and he became concerned because his home had not yet been tested. He started looking for a company to test his home, and he came across American Waterworks at a local home show. He was glad to see that along with concrete repair, basement waterproofing and foundation repair, we also offer radon testing and mitigation. He gave us a call and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, to his home to set up the test. 48 hours later, Shane returned to read the results. The results showed that Josh did in fact have unsafe levels of radon in his home. Shane explained the risks of not having a radon mitigation system installed and he walked Josh through the installation process. Josh wanted to have the system installed as soon as possible, so they scheduled the project.
Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete in the basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The installation took only one day to complete, and Josh is glad he took action to protect his and his family’s health.
