A homeowner in Millville, MN, recently saw an article discussing the dangers of radon. Worried about the levels in their home, the homeowner started looking into "radon mitigation near me". One of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. Impressed with our stellar ratings and reviews, the homeowner knew that we were the ideal company for their project. The homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate, and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Nate, to the home to take a closer look. Once Nate arrived, he began by starting a radon test. While the radon test was being completed, Nate searched for the best place for our Radon Mitigation System. Once the Radon test was completed, it showed that the levels were alarmingly high. Nate recommended installing our Radon Mitigation System, and the homeowner agreed. Next, Nate worked with the homeowner to find the best installation date. Once the date arrived, Dakota, our Radon Foreman, traveled to the home to begin the installation. After they arrived, Dakota and his crew secured the Radon Mitigation System along the north wall. Once the Radon Mitigation System was secured, Dakota and his crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. American Waterworks is happy to provide its homeowners with peace of mind knowing their radon risk is eliminated.
A homeowner from River Falls, WI, had been chatting with his neighbor when he learned that the neighbor had his home tested for radon gas. The homeowner didn't know much about radon but figured he should have his home tested for radon just to be on the safe side. He took to the internet to search for 'radon mitigation company near me', and quickly found our website. He was impressed with our radon mitigation system pictures and decided to sign up for his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Gary S, one of our Design Specialist, was scheduled to stop at the home.
When Gary arrived, he got right to work placing a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. The goal of this test is to gauge radon levels over a 48 hour timespan, giving Gary a good idea of the average radon levels within the home at any given time. When Gary finished, he met with the homeowner to discuss next steps. Gary explained that radon is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless radioactive gas that is emitted from the breakdown of soil surrounding the home. He went on to say that if the levels came back over 4 pCi/L, he would strongly recommend having a radon mitigation system installed. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. When installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon abatement system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. The homeowner agreed with Gary's recommendation but decided to wait for the radon levels to return before making a choice. A few days later, the results returned with much higher than normal levels. So the homeowner called Gary and the two worked together to find a good day for the system to be installed.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Geno M, and his team were able to install the system with no complications. Now, our homeowner can be confident that the air he and his family were breathing was as clean as possible!
A homeowner in North Branch, MN, read an article discussing the dangers of radon. During the inspection, Gary found the best placement for the radon reduction system. Gary shared his proposal with the homeowner, and they agreed with his findings. Next, Gary worked with the homeowner to find the best installation date. When the installation date arrived, our Foreman, Gus, and his crew traveled to the home to begin. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew. If you are concerned about the levels in your home, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
Larry V. in Lake City, MN had learned about the dangers of radon gas when he visited our booth at a local home show. One of our Design Specialists, Mac Cole, explained to Larry that radon exposure causes 15% of the world's lung cancer cases and kills more than 20,000 people each year. Larry didn't know that the effects of radon gas exposure could be so detrimental to your health. He set an appointment right away to have his home tested.
The test results showed that Larry did in fact have high levels of radon in his home. Mac explained the process of installing our radon mitigation system and Larry decided he wanted it to be installed as soon as possible. During the installation process, our crew drilled a hole through the floor in the basement to insert a PVC pipe and create a suction point for the radon gas. Then the gas is vented through the pipe and out of the home. Larry is relieved that he took the necessary steps to make sure his family's health is no longer compromised.

Mark K. in Lake City, MN had his home tested for radon. When the results came back with high levels, he gave American Waterworks a call. Our Design Specialist, Kevin Kreofsky, met with Mark and proposed a radon mitigation system unique to his home.
Our Foreman, Dakota Merchlewitz, started the installation process by drilling a hole in the slab foundation of the home and connected a PVC pipe. The radon gas is drawn upward and the pipe guides it to the fan. The fan draws and vents radon safely above and away from the home. Mark is glad he took the necessary steps to protect himself and his family.
