A homeowner from Rochester, MN, had just learned about the dangerous health risks that radon gas poses to a household. He knew he didn't want his family to be silently breathing in these toxic fumes, so he began to look for a radon mitigation specialist in his area. He had heard through a friend that American Waterworks offered radon mitigation in Rochester, MN. He decided to check out our website and he was impressed with the before and after images of other radon systems we had installed during our time in the industry. He decided to sign up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Brad W, was headed out to the home.
When Brad arrived, he began the inspection by placing a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. The goal of this test is to measure radon levels over a 48-hour time frame and then report the average levels of radon in the home. After Brad placed the test and inspected the rest of the home, he met with the homeowner. He began by saying that the homeowner had done the right thing by getting in contact with us. Brad explained that even if the radon levels were not dangerous, there is nothing wrong with having your home regularly tested for radon gas, as levels can change over time. He went on to say that the tricky thing about radon is that it's invisible, odorless, tasteless, and completely undetectable without proper testing. He said that if the radon levels came back above 4 pCi/L, then he would recommend the installation of one of our Radon mitigation systems, stating that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. When installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon abatement system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. The homeowner liked the sound of Brad's plan but decided to wait to see what the results were. Several weeks later, the results returned with higher than normal levels. The homeowner called Brad and scheduled the project.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dakota, led his team through a flawless installation. Now, our customer has confidence that his home is healthy!
A homeowner from Rochester, MN, was beginning the process of selling his home. Before he could confidently list his home, he knew there were several things he had to update or address. First, he was curious to see if his home had high radon levels. He knew his neighbor had recently had their home tested, so he decided to do the same. On the recommendation of a friend, he contacted American Waterworks and set up his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Michel R, headed to the home.
When Michel arrived, the first portion of his inspection was to place a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. Michel explained to the homeowner that the goal of this test was to record radon levels in the home over a 48-hour time period, after which time Michel would return to read the average results. Michel informed the homeowner that, should the levels come back higher than 4 pCi/L, he would strongly recommend the installation of a radon mitigation system. Michel explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He went on to say that, when installed by a professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA. The homeowner was very impressed with Michel's approach but decided to wait until her radon results returned. When the 48 hours were up, Michel arrived back at the home to read the results, which returned much higher than 4 pCi/L, so the homeowner and Michel sat down and found a day for the system to be installed.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Geno M, and his team were able to successfully install the system. Now, our customer can confidently list his home for sale, knowing the new homeowners would be thankful for clean air!
A Rochester, MN, homeowner was down in his basement doing laundry one evening when he noticed a large crack running the length of the basement. Worried about what this could mean for the structural integrity of the home, he decided to find a foundation repair company in Rochester, MN. He quickly found American Waterworks and signed up for his FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ross J, was headed out to the home. When Ross arrived, he got right to work assessing the foundation of the home. When he finished, he met with the homeowner. He began by informing the homeowner that foundation walls are not designed to withstand pressure on the side of the wall. So when the pressure exceeds what the wall can withstand, it's not uncommon for homeowners to see bowing, cracking, tilting inward at the top, and/or sliding in at the bottom of the wall. For this reason, Ross wanted to use our GeoLock wall anchors. These anchos counteract the pressure being put on the wall by anchoring it to the undisturbed, hard-packed soil beyond the foundation of the home. The homeowner was thrilled with Ross's explanation and solution, and signed on the spot.
A month or so later, our team was on their way to install the anchors. Our Foreman, Jesus C, and his team effortlessly installed 9 of our GeoLock anchors in the basement of the home. Now, our homeowner can confidently continue their everyday lives, knowing that their foundation is stable.

Knowing they could not complete the project themselves, the homeowner began looking into "cracking foundation repair near me". At the top of the list was us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to take a deeper dive into the products we offer. The homeowner liked that we offer award-winning foundation repair products, so they decided to go ahead and sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Ryan. A few days later, Ryan arrived at the home and began the thorough inspection of the interior and exterior foundation. During his walk-through, Ryan confirmed the foundation as compromised by settlement. To prevent the issue from continuing, Ryan recommended installing GeoLock Wall Anchors on the suffering wall. Knowing this was their best plan of action, the homeowner decided to go ahead with Ryan's recommendations. Next, Ryan passed the proposal to our Logistics team to build and schedule the project. Once the project details were confirmed, our Logistics team scheduled the project for the following month. The project date arrived, so our Foreman, Chris, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Chris and his crew made sure the walls were ready. Next, Chris and his crew shifted to installing the GeoLock Wall Anchors. Chris and his crew installed five GeoLock Wall Anchors on the south wall. After the GeoLock Wall Anchors were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was relieved to know their foundation walls were no longer suffering. American Waterworks is happy to provide their homeowner's peace of mind.
