Audubon, MN, Concrete Concerns

A homeowner in Audubon, MN, knew it was time to have their cracked driveway lifted and leveled. Overwhelmed by all their options, the homeowner decided to utilize HomeAdvisor to filter their search. One of the first companies listed was us, the highly-rated American Waterworks. Impressed by our ratings, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate details were finalized, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Richie. As soon as he arrived, Richie began inspecting the driveway. Richie determined that the concrete was sinking, leading to unevenness and cracks throughout the concrete. Since he knew the cause of the issues, Richie recommended that the homeowners lift and level the concrete. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed and the project preparations were sent to the crew. Our crew arrived at the home and began by inserting the PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution, underneath the driveway and sidewalk. After the PolyLevel installation was complete, the crew shifted their focus to filling the various cracks throughout the driveway and replacing the old joints. The crew utilized the NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks made to provide long-lasting flexibility.  Once the cracks and joints were filled, the crew could clean up their site and move on to the next project. The homeowners were grateful for the excellent job completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to assist another customer.

High Levels of Radon Mitigated in Audubon, MN

A homeowner from Audubon, MN, had recently learned about the threats that Radon gas. She had run to her local home improvement store and picked up an at-home radon monitoring test. After conducting the test, she was alarmed when the test returned with results in the double digits. She knew she couldn't leave this issue unresolved, so she began to look for radon mitigation companies in Minnesota. After coming across our website, she decided to claim her FREE estimate, and several weeks later, one of our Design Specialists, Dylan J, was headed out to the home.

Once Dylan completed his inspection, he informed the homeowner that he was recommending the installation of one of our radon mitigation systems. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner liked the sound of Dylan's plan and scheduled the job on the spot.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Jackson P, made quick work of the installation of the system. Now, our customer can confidently breathe the air in her home, knowing that her levels of radon have been brought down!

Basement Walls Reinforced In Climax, MN

Andrea from Climax, MN, contacted us when she noticed that her basement walls were beginning to bow inward, showing signs of failing. Andrea was afraid that if left unresolved, she would risk compromising the home's structural integrity. She called American Waterworks for a FREE estimate, and shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property.

Ian recommended that Andrea invest in our PowerBrace Wall System and GeoLock Wall Anchors to correct the issue.

Once approved, our Foreman and his crew got to work. First, 12 GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed; this innovative system permanently stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation. Our Foreman explained to Andrea that the anchors can be tightened over time. Then, the team got to work strategically placing PowerBraces around the basement, inserting 12 PowerBraces to stabilize the wall further. These were also installed with WaterGuard brackets for futureproofing. The PowerBrace system is an I-shaped beam that stabilizes and helps straighten the bow of the wall over time. The PowerBrace system is drilled into the home's support beams and the concrete on which the house lies.

Andrea's peace of mind was restored, and she was glad she trusted our team to ensure that her basement walls were no longer an issue.

Moisture Collection in Winthrop, MN Basement

Andrew in Winthrop, MN had water leaking through his block foundation where the wall meets the floor. He had a working sump pump already in place, but without a drainage system the water had no way to reach the pump. He contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to his home to develop a solution for Andrew. Our Specialist recommend having our WaterGuard drainage system installed and connected to the sump pump.

Andrew agreed with this solution, so our production crew started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the floor to create a trench for the WaterGuard. Then, they laid the WaterGuard drainage system and filled back the gaps with rock. They connected the drainage system into the existing sump pump and then replaced the concrete. This process only took a day to complete, and now Andrew is enjoying a dry, healthier basement.

Debra and Kathy of Ulen, MN had water leaking into their basement, making them feel nervous about the value of their home. They did some research online and came across our American Waterworks website and our basement waterproofing products. They called our office line and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Rick Weber. Rick went to their home to inspect their problem and come up with a solution. Our CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that prevents mold and humidity from invading the basement and acts as an extra wall protectant. Then, Tremaine and his crew installed 77 feet of our WaterGuard System into the formed trench. Our WaterGuard collects water seepage from basement walls and acts as an underground drain that leads to outside. Lastly, our team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
