A homeowner in Pembina, ND, recently read an article discussing the dangers of radon. Worried about the levels in their home, the homeowner knew they needed to find an expert to provide them with a solution. The homeowner took a closer look at "radon mitigation experts near me", and one of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. Impressed with our stellar ratings and reviews, the homeowner knew we were the ideal company for their project. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeonwer prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Derek. A few days later, Derek traveled to the home to begin the thorough inspection and the radon test. After Derek arrived, he started by beginning a radon test. While the radon test was being completed, Derek searched for the best place to install the Radon Mitigation System. Once the test concluded, it showed the levels were dangerously high. Derek recommended securing a Radon Mitigation System. Knowing this was the best plan of action, the homeowner agreed and worked with Derek to find the best installation date. When the installation date arrived, our Foreman, Jackson, traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Jackson and his crew started by securing the Radon Mitigation System outside the home. Once the exterior section was secured, the crew shifted to securing the interior section. Once both sections were secured, the crew cleaned up their matierals and left the home. The homeowner was delighted to know their radon risk was elimainted. If you are looking to have a radon mitigation system installed in your home, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
Anthony W. in Le Center, MN had multiple cracked walls in his basement. He was worried that these cracks would cause the walls to bow, which would put pressure on his foundation. He wanted to repair his walls before his problem got worse, so he contacted American Waterworks to learn more about our foundation repair solutions. We sent a Design Specialist to his home to provide him with a solution and a FREE estimate. Anthony was impressed with our products and our team, so he scheduled the installation.
Our Design Specialist recommended having wall anchors installed along the cracked walls to permanently stabilize the foundation. Our production crew started the installation by drilling 13 long, metal rods through the brick wall into the soil surrounding the home. They secured both ends of the rod with anchor plates and tightened them. These anchors can continue to be tightened over time to gradually straighten the wall. Anthony's walls became permanently secured with the installation of these wall anchors. He is glad he made the investment to protect his foundation for the long-term.

Brain B. of Le Center, MN had water seeping into his basement and his foundation wall was cracking. Both problems were causing him to worry about the safety and value of his home. While searching for local contractors on Google, he came across American Waterworks. He called our office line and scheduled a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Jared. Jared went to Brain's home, took a look at the water leaks and his foundation, and wrote out a plan of our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain, CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, and our Wall Anchor System. Brian was confident in our products and their features, so he set up a date for the installation.
Our Foreman, Raul, and his team started the installation by installing our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain, which is made to prevent mud clogs and catch water seepage from basement walls. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter, which is designed to prevent mold and humidity, save money on energy bills, and it gives the basement a clean appearance. Lastly, our team installed our Wall Anchors over the CleanSpace to straighten the walls and pull them back to their natural position. To complete the installation, our team filled the open-floor gaps with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over them, ensuring the space was neat and clean. Brian was happy with the work and had a remarkable experience!

Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Lance. A few days later, Lance promptly arrived at the home and began the thorough inspection of the foundation. During his inspection, Lance confirmed that several walls were suffering from settlement. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that has become the second leading cause of lung cancer. Naomi R. in Norwood Young America, MN learned that radon kills over 20,000 people each year and she realized that they had not had their home tested yet. Naomi had used us in the past to repair her foundation and had a pleasant experience, so she contacted us again to have her home tested for radon. One of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, went to her home to set up the radon test and give her a free estimate. The results showed that her home did in fact have high levels of radon, so Jeremy recommended that they have our radon mitigation system installed. Naomi was eager to have the system installed to protect their health and reduce their chances of getting lung cancer.
Our production team installed the radon mitigation system by inserting a PVC pipe through her sump pump which creates a suction point for the gas. The PVC pipe runs up the house and through the roof. There is a fan installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the gas is pushed out and away from the home. After each installation, we do a second radon test to ensure that the radon mitigation system is working properly and expelling the radon from the home. The second test reported that Naomi’s home now had significantly lower levels of radon. She is glad that her home is now protected from this harmful, radioactive gas, and that she took action to protect her and her family’s health.
