Radon Mitigation System Installed in Minneapolis, MN

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, was scrolling through social media when he came upon a post discussing the dangers of radon. He learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, which can be found in soil. As soil decays, it releases radon gas, which creates a high toxicity level in the air. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, second only to cigarette smoking. After learning this information, the homeowner went to his local convenience store to purchase a radon test kit. In a couple of days, the test results were above 4 pCi/L, and the homeowner quickly began searching for radon mitigation services in the area. The homeowner came upon our website and was impressed with our reviews. He contacted us and claimed his FREE estimate.

Our Design Specialist, Mitch S., arrived at the home, and the homeowner informed him that he had already tested the radon levels of his home and would like our radon mitigation system installed. Mitch understood and quickly got to work designing where the system would be installed. He explained to the homeowner that our radon mitigation system would be installed at the home's lowest level and consist of a large-diameter plastic pipe that would connect the air beneath the foundation to outdoors. The homeowner understood and agreed to his design.

In about a month, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They would drill a hole at the footing and place a PVC pipe, which would then connect the system that is installed outside of the home. This design tackles the radon-rich air by spewing it outside before it can reach the home. Once the crew was done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Sump Pump Upgrade Saves Damp Basement in Plymouth, MN

A couple from Plymouth, MN, got in touch with us when they noticed that the lower level of their home was taking on water. They didn't want water damage to hinder any potential resale of the home, so they decided to find a contractor that could address the problem and eventually, they found our website. Impressed with other work we had done in their area, they decided to sign up for one of our FREE estimates. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Nick S, headed out to the home. After Nick got a good idea of the problem in the home, he was ready to make his recommendations. He recommended the installation of our SuperSump sump pump. He explained that this sump pump is an effective and economical solution. It's engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods of time, even in times of heavy water intrusion. It boasts a powerful Zoeller® 1/3 horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. The homeowner liked the sound of Nick's plan, and scheduled the installation for several weeks later. Sunken Concrete Gets Lifted in Minneapolis, MN

A Minneapolis, MN, homeowner had noticed that the concrete walkway leading to her front stoop had been sinking over the year. It was beginning to pull away from the stoop and had created a large trip hazard. The homeowner didn't want anyone to take an unnecessary tumble, so she began to look for concrete repair in Minnesota. When she found American Waterworks, she was impressed with our concrete before and after pictures and decided to sign up for her FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Adam V, one of our Design Specialists, headed out to the home to see what could be done.

After Adam finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to inform her that we could address the situation using our PolyLevel injection. Adam informed her that PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands when it is injected beneath sinking concrete. As it expands, it slowly fills voids left by soil erosion and, in the process, lifts the concrete back to its desired location. Adam went on to say that once the lift had been completed, he would want to see the cracks and joints of the concrete sealed with our NexusPro. This silicone-based sealant works to prevent moisture from getting below the slab, potentially compromising the lift. The homeowner agreed with the proposed work and scheduled the job for several weeks later.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Troy W, and his team were able to complete the lift and seal with no issues. Now, our customer can confidently walk out her front door knowing her uneven concrete has been fixed!

Settling Walkway in Minneapolis, MN Lifted

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, had a growing issue of concrete slabs sinking in his walkway. Knowing it would only continue to worsen, the homeowner decided to tackle the issue immediately by contacting us and scheduling his FREE estimate.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Brad W., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection, answer any questions the homeowner had, and provide the best solution. Brad explained to the homeowner that soil washout is one of the most common reasons for sinking concrete slabs. When it rains or floods, water moves through the ground and washes away supporting soils, causing the slabs to settle. For this reason, Brad recommended our PolyLevel, a waterproof foam expanding formula, to lift the concrete slabs, and NexusPro, a silicone-based sealant, to seal the steps. The homeowner happily agreed to Brad's recommendation and scheduled the installation date.

In about a month, our crew arrived at the home to carry out the installation. PolyLevel is installed by first drilling small 3/8 inch holes into the slabs. Using an injection gun, PolyLevel is then injected beneath the slab, filling in the voids in the concrete. Once the slab has been lifted to the desired level, the crew seals the holes with cement. Lastly, they sealed the joints of the steps with NexusPro.

After looking through our website and becoming impressed by our reviews, the homeowner contacted us to schedule his FREE estimate.

In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Gary S., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection, answer questions, and create a proposal with the best solution for the homeowner. During the inspection, Gary noticed some water stains along the joints of the wall and the footing. For this reason, he recommended installing WaterGuard, our drainage system that collects water at the perimeter of the basement and safely sends it to the sump pump, SuperSump+, our elite sump pump system capable of removing 2,200 gallons of water per hour, and IceGuard, our anti-freeze discharge line that allows water to escape in sub-zero temperatures. After reviewing Gary's proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and scheduled the installation date.
