A homeowner from Brooklyn Center, MN, was growing frustrated over her leaky basement. She had a waterproofing system in place already, but she feared her old sump was having trouble keeping up, because each time it rained, her basement corners would floor. Not wanting any of the children in the home to get to the dirty water, she decided to begin her search for a MN basement waterproofing company. When she found our website, she decided to sign up for her FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, Ryan P, one of our Design Specialists, headed to her home.
After Ryan completed his inspection, he informed the homeowner that American Waterworks could help fix the issue. Ryan wanted to install our SuperSump sump pump. The SuperSump is an effective and economical solution to fighting unwanted water. It's engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods, even during times of heavy water intrusion. The SuperSump boasts a powerful Zoller 1/3 horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. Ryan finished by saying that the sump pump could be connected to the existing system. The homeowner was thrilled to hear the news, and scheduled the job for several weeks later.
The next month, our waterproofing team headed out to her home. Led by their Foreman, Kevin M, the team successfully placed a SuperSump, and attached it to the pre-existing system. Now our customer can enjoy her basement without worries of water!

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, disliked the look of their sinking, uneven concrete walkway. Hoping to avoid total concrete replacement, the homeowner began looking into "concrete repair near me". At the top of the recommendations stood American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Speicalist, Gary. The following week, Gary promptly arrived at the home and began the thorough inspection of the exterior concrete. During his inspection, Gary confirmed the concrete was sinking due to settlement. To prevent this issue from worsening, Gary recommended lifting and leveling the sidewalk back into place. Knowing this was the best plan of action, the homeowner agreed and worked with Gary to find the best installation date. When the installation date was selected, our Foreman, Bryce, and his crew were assigned to complete the project. First, Bryce and his crew began by installing PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam, below the sinking slabs. Once the PolyLevel was secured, the crew shifted to filling the cracks and joints with NexusPro, a silicone-based solution. Once all the products were secured, Bryce and his crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. American Waterworks is happy to repair its customers' sinking walkways and sidewalks.
Jacqueline M. in Minneapolis, MN had a bowing foundation wall in her basement. She was concerned about the pressure it was putting on her foundation, so she contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, went to her home to inspect the wall and design a solution. After listening to her concerns and needs, he developed a plan to permanently restore her wall using PowerBraces. She was pleased with his proposal, so she decided to move forward with repairing her foundation.
Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his crew installed 6 PowerBraces along the bowing wall. The PowerBrace is an adjustable beam that stabilizes bowing walls and forces them back into their original position. PowerBraces are sometimes used instead of wall anchors because wall anchors require access to the soil outside and would cause us to cross a property line if that product was installed. The beams are covered with a zinc-coating, so that the beams will not rust or deteriorate over time. Jacqueline was glad that the process was not very disruptive and that they barely take up any space in her basement. She has peace of mind knowing that American Waterworks helped her find a long-term solution for her home.

Josh L. in Minneapolis, MN discovered the adverse effects that radon gas has on people's health and he became concerned because his home had not yet been tested. He started looking for a company to test his home, and he came across American Waterworks at a local home show. He was glad to see that along with concrete repair, basement waterproofing and foundation repair, we also offer radon testing and mitigation. He gave us a call and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, to his home to set up the test. 48 hours later, Shane returned to read the results. The results showed that Josh did in fact have unsafe levels of radon in his home. Shane explained the risks of not having a radon mitigation system installed and he walked Josh through the installation process. Josh wanted to have the system installed as soon as possible, so they scheduled the project.
Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete in the basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The installation took only one day to complete, and Josh is glad he took action to protect his and his family’s health.

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, was growing frustrated with a sidewalk connecting her front and backyard. You see, sinking concrete on the sidewalk was making it hard for her to lug wheeled objects from the front to the back, or vice versa. She decided to search for a company that could help with the issue. Once she found our website, she decided to call us, and set up her FREE estimate. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Adam V, headed out to the home.
Once Adam completed his inspection, he informed the homeowner that while the sinking concrete was very frustrating, American Waterworks could offer a solution in our PolyLevel method. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam that expands when injected beneath concrete slabs, filling voids left over by soil erosion and slowly lifting the concrete back to its desired position. He finished by explaining that we finish concrete lifting projects by installing our NexusPro. A silicone-based sealant, NexusPro gets applied to all joints and cracks in the concrete to prevent any unwanted elements from getting below the concrete. The homeowner liked the sound of Adams's plan and decided to schedule the work for a few weeks later.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Troy, and his team made quick work of the installation. Now our customer can easily navigate their smooth sidewalk!
