A homeowner in Dunnell, MN had water leaking from his basement walls and windows, making him feel nervous and uneasy living in his own home. They got in contact with American Waterworks to schedule a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Dylan Woitas. Dylan went to their home to carefully inspect their walls and windows to come up with a solution. The homeowner got all of their questions answered and felt comfortable in Dylan's proposal, so they went ahead and scheduled an installation date.
Our Foreman, Edgar Miranda, and his production team began the project by cutting out their basement window and replacing it with one of our EverLast Basement Windows. Our EverLast Windows are energy-efficient, double-paneled, and are designed to replace outdated, wood-framed basement windows. Next, our team cut out the concrete basement floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a trench. In the trench, Edgar and his crew installed our WaterGuard System, which is made to prevent water clogs, serve as an underground drain, and collect water seepage from basement walls. Lastly, our crew installed 110 feet of our FoamMax Basement Wall Panels. Our FoamMax provides comfort, warmth, and energy-efficiency while making foundation walls look clean and bright. To complete the installation, our crew filled the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete. The homeowner was extremely happy with the job and had a great experience from start to finish!
Brian R. of Zimmerman, MN had a crack in his foundation, causing him to worry about the strength of his home. His realtor referred American Waterworks for the repairs. Our Design Specialist, Chad, inspected Brian's wall and proposed our PowerBraces, which are made to stabilize failing basement walls. Brian got all of his questions answered and was confident in the price and quote, so he moved forward with the project.

Allen in Madelia, MN had pests entering is home through his dirt crawl space. He also was noticing his floor sagging and high levels of humidity coming from that space. He contacted American Waterworks to learn more about our crawl space encapsulation solutions and receive a FREE estimate. We sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect his crawl space and provide him with a personalized solution. Our Specialist recommended having our CleanSpace vapor barrier, spray foam rim joist insulation and SmartJacks installed. Allen agreed that our solution was the best fit for his needs, so he scheduled the installation.
Our production crew removed the debris from his crawl space and then installed the SmartJacks to support the floor beams and keep the floor above sturdy. Then, they installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier system on the dirt floor and the sides of the crawl space. This helps to keep pests and moisture out, which reduces humidity. Lastly, they sprayed our spray foam insulation in the rim joists of the crawl space to completely seal off the space and prevent any pests or water from entering. Allen was pleased with the result and is glad he can enjoy a stable, healthier crawl space for years to come!

A Hanska, MN, homeowner was down in his basement one day when he did a double-take while looking at his basement wall. He could swear the basement wall seemed to be bowing inward. He didn't think much of it, and one day found himself at the New Ulm Home + Health Show where he met our Design Specialist, Dylan W. He and Dylan got to chatting about the wall and Dylan informed the homeowner that a bowing wall could be an indicator of foundation failure, so the two set up a time for Dylan to complete a FREE inspection appointment at his home.
When Dylan arrived at the home several weeks later, he headed right to the basement. When he finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner. Dylan informed him that basement walls are designed to withstand loads from above, not from the side. So when the pressure being exerted on the side of the wall exceeds what the wall can withstand, it's not uncommon for homeowners to see bowing or cracking. Dylan reassured the customer that while the issue seemed daunting, he had the perfect solution. Dylan wanted to use our GeoLock anchors to address the bowing wall, stating that these anchors counteract the pressure on the wall by anchoring it to the undisturbed soil beyond the foundation of the home. The homeowner agreed with Dylan's plan and scheduled the job on the spot.
Eventually, the day of the project rolled around. Our Foreman, Kiko P, led his team through the swift installation of 8 GeoLock anchors throughout the basement. Now, our customer can breathe a bit easier knowing his foundation is no longer in trouble!
A homeowner in Montrose, MN, was scrolling through social media when she came upon a post discussing the danger that radon poses in homes. She learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, which can be found in soil. As the soil decays, it releases radon, which creates a high toxicity level in the air. After learning this information, the homeowner decided to go to her nearest convenience store to purchase a radon testing kit. After a couple of days, the test results came back above 4 pCi/L, which is the EPA's required action for radon. The homeowner quickly started searching for radon services in the area and came upon our website. After browsing our website, the homeowner was impressed with our reviews and decided to schedule her FREE estimate.
In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Gary S., arrived at the home to assess the basement. Gary explained to the homeowner that our radon mitigation system is installed at the lowest level of the home and connects the air beneath the foundation to the outdoors. This is done this way so that our system will tackle the radon-rich air before it can enter the home. The homeowner agreed to Gary's design and decided to move forward.
In a couple of months, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew arrived at the home to carry out the installation. They installed the system by drilling a hole in the floor and placing the PVC pipe. The pipe then connects to the radon mitigation system, which is installed outside of the home. Once the crew was done, they cleaned out their equipment and left the home.
Now, our customer can have peace of mind knowing she and her family are breathing fresh, clean air! When was the last time you tested the radon levels of your home? Click HERE to schedule your FREE estimate today!
