A Red Lake, MN, homeowner had noticed a peculiar smell wafting through his home. Try as he may, he could not find the source of the odor. After a heavy night of rain, he realized that it might not be something in the home that was expired but potentially something in his crawl space beneath the home. He began to look for MN crawl space contractors and quickly found our website. He was impressed with other crawl space sealing jobs we had done and decided to schedule his FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, Ian S, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home. When he arrived, he wasted no time gearing up and getting down into the crawl space to assess the issue. Quickly, the homeowner's worries were confirmed. Small holes or cracks in the crawl space had led to standing water and the growth of mold and mildew, which the odor could be attributed to. Ian recommended three of our products that he believed would help the issue. First, Ian recommended our CleanSpace. This 100% waterproof tarp-like material gets installed directly onto the walls and floors of the crawl space. It acts to collect water entering through small holes and cracks in the foundation of the home, keeping it out of the crawl space. Ian knew that if the liner was flush with the crawl space ground, trapped water would, again, have nowhere to go. For this reason, he recommended our drainage matting be installed below the CleanSpace on the ground of the space. The raised dimples on our drainage matting give the water flooding into your crawl space a channel underneath your crawl space liner. Now that Ian had created a channel for water to flow, he needed a means of disposal. In this case, Ian recommended our SuperSump sump pump be placed in the space This powerful, yet economical, pump is engineered to help keep your home dry and healthy for extended periods. It boasts a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. The homeowner liked the sound of Ian's plan and decided to schedule the job for later in the year.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Kingsley, led his team through the installation of 1 SuperSump pump, 1128 sqft of CleanSpace, and another 900 sqft of drainage matting. Now, our customers can enjoy an odor-free home!
