A couple from Valley City, ND got in contact with us when they decided they wanted to get their house tested for Radon gas. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that has become the second leading cause of lung cancer, second only to cigarette smoke. The couple knew that testing for the dangerous gas was incredibly important. When they called in, we set them up with our FREE estimate, entitling them to a thorough inspection of the issue by one of our Design Specialists. Once the appointment had been set, our Design Specialist from our Fargo branch, Kole, headed out to the property. When he arrived, he informed the homeowners that he would be leaving a charcoal test behind for 48 hours. He went on to say that the test would sit in the home and at the end of the 48 hours, would be able to tell the levels of Radon in the home. Once the 48 hours was up, the couple sent their test out, and it came back measuring 7.9 pCi/L. Kole informed the couple that the World Health Organization recommends taking action to fight Radon at a 2.7 as 1pCi/L of Radon is equal to 2.5 cigarettes smoked a day. Kole recommended that the couple looks into installing a Radon Mitigation System in the home. He explained that this system works to pull Radon from the home and then pipe it up and outwards from the home. The couple quickly agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Fargo-based Foreman, CJ, and his crew worked quickly and efficiently to install the new system in the home. Once work was complete, the couple was relieved to know that their Radon issue had been addressed and dealt with.

After they were approved, they were sent to our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew. to begin the project. As soon as Franklin and his crew arrived, they began the installation. First, they started by installing WaterGuard around the entire basement perimeter. Next, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the TripleSafe. Following the TripleSafe installation, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Finally, the crew installed an IceGuard attachment on the outside discharge line. The crew completed the waterproofing project, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to provide its homeowners peace of mind during times of heavy water intrusion.
Josh M. of Slayton, MN had cracks along his foundation wall, and he wanted to get it repaired as soon as possible. He heard about American Waterworks on the radio, so he decided to give our office a call. Our customer care department set him up with a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Jared Bruns. Jared went to his home to carefully inspect the foundation wall and come up with a solution. Josh got all of his questions answered about the repairs, so he went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Cole Brinkman, and his production team began the installation by digging five holes outside of the home beyond the foundation. Next, our team inserted a long, metal rod from the inside foundation to each hole outside of the home. On the ends of each rod, our team tightened and secured a GeoLock Wall Anchor. This wall anchor system will permanently stabilize foundation walls by anchoring the walls to the hard-packed, compact soil. After installation, wall anchors can be tightened over time to further straighten the foundation wall. To complete the project, our team backfilled the holes and replaced the soil, leaving the yard looking neater than when they found it. Josh was very happy with the final product!
A homeowner from Slayton, MN, was doing some work on his basement. After removing wood paneling in a lower room, he uncovered stair-step cracks running down his wall. He was very concerned about his discovery and decided to look into MN foundation repair companies. When he found our website, he was impressed by our previous work and decided to sign up for his FREE estimate. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Lance S, headed out to the home to see what could be done.
Lance got right to work, conducting his inspection of the home. When he was finished, he met with the homeowner to discuss his recommendations. Lance informed them that foundation walls are designed to support loads from above, not from the side. When side pressure on your walls exceeds their ability to withstand the force, they begin to crack, bow, slide in at the bottom, and/or tilt at the top. He assured them that while it was a serious issue, we had a solution. Lance wanted to use our GeoLock wall anchors. He explained that our GeoLock anchors is an innovative wall anchor system that will permanently stabilize your foundation wall by anchoring your walls to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond your foundation. After installation, wall anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten your foundation walls and pull them back to their original position. The homeowner liked the sound of having a system that could be adjusted at the house continued to settle, and decided to schedule his project for several weeks later.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Victor R, and his team effortlessly installed 10 of our GeoLock anchors throughout the basement of the home. Now, our customer can finish his basement revamp knowing that his foundation worries are in the past!
