A homeowner from Chanhassen, MN, was in the process of renovating her basement when she tore out a piece of drywall to find large cracks running lengthwise on her block foundation wall. The homeowner was instantly worried about what her discovery could mean for the safety of her home. Not wanting to delay repairing the wall, she decided to find a basement foundation company to repair the damages. Through the recommendations of a friend, the homeowner quickly found American Waterworks and signed up for her FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Eric H, was headed out to the home. When Eric arrived, he began his estimate, paying close attention to the basement, outside obstructions, and more. Upon completion of his estimate, Eric met back up with the homeowner to deliver his findings. First, Eric began by informing the homeowner that foundation walls are designed to withstand loads from the top, not from the side. So when the pressure on the side of the wall becomes more than what the wall can withstand, it's not uncommon for homeowners to see cracking, bowing, tilting inward, or sliding in at the bottom of the wall. Eric went on to say that he was recommending our PowerBrace foundation repair system, explaining that this system is designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten the wall over time. Over time, PowerBraces can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straight and more vertical. The homeowner was relieved that Eric had provided her with a solution and decided to set a date for the project.
More than a month later, our Foreman, Jose C, and his crew were out at the home to install the system. After a grueling day, our team successfully placed 4 PowerBraces on the problem foundation walls, restoring our customer's faith in her home!

Bob J. in Lansing, MN was experiencing water leaking into his basement. He wasn't quite sure where the water was coming from so he decided to contact a professional to inspect his basement. He called American Waterworks and we sent a Design Specialist to his home to provide him with a solution and a free estimate. During the inspection, we discovered that his basement walls had started to crack and bow inward. This was one of the entry points for the water. We also found water seeping up through the floor in one of the corners of the basement. Our production crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the basement floor, a SuperSump sump pump in the corner and 3 wall anchors to repair the damaged foundation wall. The process took two days to complete, but now Bob's peace of mind is restored. His basement is now a dry, healthier space, and he is confident that the walls of his home are stable. He is glad he found a solution to repair his home for the long-term.
