Crawl spaces tend to be dark and creepy for small children. For adults, they're dark and creepy for other reasons. For instance, they're known for being the source of pooling water, and bowing wood can mean the foundation of the home is unstable, creating unease in the back of the mind. So when a homeowner from Rush City, MN, contacted us about their unstable crawl space, we knew we had to act fast. Our Design Specialist, Ryan, went to the property to assess the situation and recommended a few fixes that would transform the space. He recommended our SmartJack system for crawl spaces to keep the area stable. This particular system provides supplemental support to your failing structure, but can also lift failing floor joists or beams over time, restoring them to their original position. Our Foreman, Gabriel, was able to make the installation with the help of his fantastic crew. Now, the homeowners don't need to fear their crawl space and the various issues it could pose. 

Roger B. in Spring Park, MN noticed that the roof of his crawl space was sagging, and he had a crack on the exterior wall of his home where the crawl space is. Our production crew removed the debris and installed our crawl space waterproofing system which consisted of, drainage matting along the floor, SilverGlo, CleanSpace and a Sedona dehumidifier. Then we installed 5 SmartJacks in the crawl space to support the beams of the flooring. To stabilize the home, we installed 10 push piers under the foundation.The entire process took a couple of days, but Roger and his family will benefit from this permanent solution for a lifetime. Paul G. in Long Lake, MN had water leaking into the basement of his business. He was concerned that the air quality was being compromised and he did not want his customers to be affected by that. He was also concerned that his materials would get ruined since he used that space as storage. Our production team started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor. Then, they laid the WaterGuard drainage system and installed the SuperSump sump pump. They filled back the gaps with rock and then replaced the concrete. Lastly, they installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier system which protects the basement from moisture and potential mold growth. Water now properly flows through the drainage system to the sump pump, and from there the water is pushed through the discharge line and expelled from the home. Paul is glad he made the investment to protect his business for the long haul.

A customer from Long Lake, MN got in contact with us when they began to notice unwanted water entering the basement of their property and bowing walls. They had hopes of turning their basement into a live-able space and didn't want to have to worry about water damage. When they called in, they used their FREE estimate and had our Design Specialist, Eric, out to the property to assess the situation. When he completed his walkthrough he was able to make his recommendations. To address the water intrusion, Eric recommended two of our products that would work hand in hand. First, he wanted to drape the walls in our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, a plastic tarp-like material that gets tacked to the wall, catching any water entering through cracks and porous holes. As the water drains down the plastic barrier, it deposits into Eric's second recommendation, our WaterGuard french drainage system. This discreet drainage option sits below the concrete floor of the basement, collecting the water draining down the wall caught by the CleanSpace. It then works to funnel it to an external source. To address the foundation of the home, Eric recommended the use of our PowerBrace and GeoLock Anchors to address the bowing walls. He explained that the PowerBrace work to permanently stabilize the wall in its place, while the GeoLock anchors stabilize the wall by anchoring it to the virgin-packed soil beyond the foundation. Finally, to make it a live-able space, he recommended the use of our Egress window, which improves the energy efficiency of the space, while providing it with an up-to-code route for exit in case of emergency.

GeoLocks is our innovative wall anchor system that permanently stabilizes your foundation walls by anchoring the walls to untouched soil beyond your foundation. Along the south wall, the crew installed five GeoLock anchors.  Once the GeoLocks were installed, the crew was able to clean up their job site.
