A homeowner from Minneapolis, MN was beginning to notice a large crack forming on the walls of their basement. A homeowner in Plymouth, MN, was growing more and more frustrated with the concrete in front of her house. Her concrete stairs leading up to her front door were beginning to sink, creating a trip hazard and an eyesore. Not wanting to sacrifice safety or curb appeal, the homeowner decided to begin researching companies in the area that could help. Once Daniel completed his inspection, he met with the homeowner to give her his recommendation. He informed her that American Waterworks could address the sinking with our PolyLevel method. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam that expands when injected beneath sinking slabs, filling voids left by soil erosion and slowly lifting concrete back into place. Daniel went on to say that we finished our lifting process with the installation of our NexusPro. A silicone-based sealant, NexusPro gets applied directly to the cracks and joints in the slab being lifted, preventing unwanted elements from permeating the slab. The homeowner agreed with the proposed work and the job was scheduled for a month later.

During the inspection, Gary confirmed with the homeowner that the cause of their sunken concrete slabs is soil washout. Soil washout is the process in which water moves through the ground and washes away supporting soil. Over time, gaps and voids are created, and the slabs sink. To effectively fix this issue, Gary recommended PolyLevel, our modern solution that prevents homeowners from going through the troubles of mudjacking or slab replacement. PolyLevel is made of a polyurethane foam that expands once injected beneath concrete slabs, allowing for accurate lifting. Along with PolyLevel, Gary also recommended NexusPro, our silicone-based sealant to repair cracks and seal the joints. In about a month, our Foreman, Patrick B., and his crew arrived at the home to carry out the installation. The crew began drilling small holes into the slabs. Then, PolyLevel is injected, filling in the voids in the soil and causing the slabs to lift. Once lifted to the desired height, the crew seals the holes. Next, they move on to installing NexusPro to repair cracks that have formed and to seal the joints.
