A homeowner in Brainerd, MN, noticed the steps leading to their dock were uneven. Worried someone could be seriously injured, the homeowner knew they needed to find a permanent solution. The homeowner looked into "concrete leveling services near me". One of the first companies to capture their attention was American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to sign up for a FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Gary, to the home to take a closer look. Gary promptly arrived and began the detailed inspection of the stairs. During his inspection, Gary confirmed that several stairs needed to be lifted back into place. To prevent this issue from worsening, Gary recommended lifting and leveling the stairs, and the homeowner agreed. Gary worked with the homeowner to find the best installation date. Once the installation date arrived, our Foreman, Charlie, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Charlie and his crew started by lifting the stairs with PolyLevel, a polyurthane foam injection solution. Once all the steps were raised, Charlie and his crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to provide its homeowners with peace of mind knowing their steps are properly raised.
Jeffrey H. in Champlin, MN discovered the adverse effects that radon gas has on people's health and he became concerned because his home had not yet been tested. He started looking for a company to test his home, and he came across American Waterworks’ website. He was glad to see that along with concrete repair, basement waterproofing and foundation repair, we also offer radon testing and mitigation. He gave us a call and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to his home to set up the test. The results showed that Jeffrey did in fact have unsafe levels of radon in his home. Jeremy explained the risks of not having a radon mitigation system installed and he walked Jeffrey through the installation process. Jeffrey wanted to have the system installed as soon as possible, so they scheduled the project.
Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete under the stairs in the basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The post mitigation test results showed that his home was now a much safer environment. The installation took only one day to complete, and Jeffrey is glad he took action to protect his and his family’s health.
