A Red Lake, MN, homeowner had noticed a peculiar smell wafting through his home. Try as he may, he could not find the source of the odor. After a heavy night of rain, he realized that it might not be something in the home that was expired but potentially something in his crawl space beneath the home. He began to look for MN crawl space contractors and quickly found our website. He was impressed with other crawl space sealing jobs we had done and decided to schedule his FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, Ian S, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home. When he arrived, he wasted no time gearing up and getting down into the crawl space to assess the issue. Quickly, the homeowner's worries were confirmed. Small holes or cracks in the crawl space had led to standing water and the growth of mold and mildew, which the odor could be attributed to. Ian recommended three of our products that he believed would help the issue. First, Ian recommended our CleanSpace. This 100% waterproof tarp-like material gets installed directly onto the walls and floors of the crawl space. It acts to collect water entering through small holes and cracks in the foundation of the home, keeping it out of the crawl space. Ian knew that if the liner was flush with the crawl space ground, trapped water would, again, have nowhere to go. For this reason, he recommended our drainage matting be installed below the CleanSpace on the ground of the space. The raised dimples on our drainage matting give the water flooding into your crawl space a channel underneath your crawl space liner. Now that Ian had created a channel for water to flow, he needed a means of disposal. In this case, Ian recommended our SuperSump sump pump be placed in the space This powerful, yet economical, pump is engineered to help keep your home dry and healthy for extended periods. It boasts a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. The homeowner liked the sound of Ian's plan and decided to schedule the job for later in the year.
On the day of the project, our Foreman, Kingsley, led his team through the installation of 1 SuperSump pump, 1128 sqft of CleanSpace, and another 900 sqft of drainage matting. Now, our customers can enjoy an odor-free home!
Rolf, a homeowner in Waubun, MN, realized that his crawl space needed some attention. A number of comfort and energy problems are caused by inadequate or incorrect crawl space insulation. Specifically, with musty smells, mold, and moisture issues, Rolf decided he needed to call American Waterworks for a FREE Estimate. Our Design Specialist, Kole, headed to the property for an inspection. Following the inspection, Kole made his recommendations and answered all questions, and Rolf made an appointment to implement solutions.
Our Foreman and his crew began the project by clearing debris and readying the spaces for installation. They then went to work installing our CleanSpace vapor barrier to address water Issues. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic barrier that gets installed right onto the problem walls, and works to catch water entering the space through cracks and holes in the wall. This also reduces the home's chances of being exposed to radon. The crew also used spray foam to seal and waterproof the homeowner's crawl space. Our spray foam is designed to keep the heat inside and prevent cool air from coming in. Rolf was grateful for the support and guidance of American Waterworks in protecting his home!
A homeowner in Waubun, MN, thought it was a good idea to get the radon in their home tested. Once the test was complete, the results showed a high amount of radon. The worried homeowner searched for a solution for this potentially dangerous issue. After thorough research, the homeowner discovered that American Waterworks installed radon mitigation systems. The homeowner went to our website and signed up for a FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist, Kole, traveled to the property and introduced himself to the homeowners. Then, Kole inspected the home's exterior to determine where the radon mitigation system would be installed. Once the placement was determined, Kole drew up a solution and received approval from the homeowners. The plans were sent to the crew and they were set out to the home. After they arrived, the crew entered the crawl space to begin the installation process. The crew began by extracting the crawl space entrance and running pipes into the crawl space while extracting as well. Additionally, the crew installed a fan on the North side of the crawlspace. They successfully installed the radon mitigation system in the home. The homeowner was grateful to know they do not run the risk of high radon levels in their home. American Waterworks is pleased to provide another homeowner peace of mind.
A homeowner in Lester Prairie, MN, noticed their wall was beginning to crack. Knowing this was not a good sign, the homeowner decided to look into foundation repair options. The homeowner took to Google and searched "foundation repair near me". American Waterworks was positioned near the top of that list, so they decided to look into our service. After seeing our impressive list of services, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Soon after the appointment was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Eric, one of our Design Specialists. Eric arrived at the home and began by completing the inspection of the basement. The homeowner knew that this would provide a long-term fix, so they went along with Eric's plan. Once they got the stamp of approval, the plans were sent to our Foreman, Chris, and his crew. They arrived and began by making sure the space was ready for production. The crew installed four PowerBraces along the southwest basement wall. After the PowerBraces were properly secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed by the work completed by the crew and left a glowing review. American Waterworks is happy to make another home safe.
